“Budget hotel”
Reviewed September 30, 2010

Located close to metro station, Sacre Coeur and Carrefour supermarket. No lift, circular stairs. My room was on the 6th floor and it was crazy to go upstairs with heavy bag. The room is pretty small with small window. Bathroom is ok. Sometimes there was strange unpleasant smell in the room. Free wifi internet in the room. Also there was internet terminal in lobby. Breakfast is very basic: tea/coffee, orange juice, croissants, jam/butter, but it was enough for me.
In general for 1 star hotel Amarys Simart made a good impression

The staff were very friendly and helpful (they also spoke english)..... the location was great with a bike stand just 150m away and underground 100m away. Plenty of eating in the back streets near the hotel. The room was cleaned every day with fresh sheets and towels. High speed free secure wifi. We would definately stay here again!

I took a 12 day trip to Paris with my 25 years old daughter this spring. After looking throu gh countless hotels online, I finally settled for this one. Well, we couldn;t have been happier ,the price was right- only 100$ per night split between us. Where else can you stay in Paris for 50$ a night? The location was good- a block from the Metro & easy to get to central Paris in approx 20 minutes. The day staff were friendly & helpful,& spoke english well. We got extra towels & a hair dryer when requested & they came in & tidied up every day.Theres a grocery store a couple of blocks away & a patisserie. We felt safe at night, although at first we didn't think it was the best area.Didn't try the breakfast, but theres a coffee machine & internet in the lobby.Theres a little bar not far away called Le Mont Blanc,3 rue Baudelique- extremely friendly with a pool table, I quiet place for a beer if you don't want to travel far for a drink at night. It was close to my birthday & the owner (Belkhe) said when we come in next time he'll have a cake & champagne for me- and he did! I couldn't believe how warm & inviting they were, Of course we shared with everyone there & promised to return on our next trip. They don't speak english but you can get by. So,It was a great hotel, although the room was small, as they all are, we just need a place to sleep Oh, & the shower was amazing. Lots of water pressure & hot! I can't recommend this hotel enough- but try to get on the first few floors cause theres no elevator.

This is a very, very basic hotel. Quite shabby in places, paint on the skirting board etc was peeling, the whole room could have done with re-painting, if I'm honest. However, it was clean enough, so no qualms there. I think you get what you pay for with this; a decent service and a small room that's absolutely fine to lay your head, but not somewhere you want to spend too much time.

I was also VERY happy with the view; our window looked directly at the Sacre Coeur. The walk from the hotel to there was also enjoyable.

Breakfast (included in the price) was great, quite basic but very tasty. The staircase is a bit of a nightmare; we were on the top floor, the furthest away room possible, so it was quite a trek every time we wanted to go back to our room. We also had no towels when we arrived, so I went downstairs and it took a minute for them to understand but we got our towels eventually!

A decent hotel for the price though, we were very much on a budget so we didn't expect anything too classy, and for me, cleanliness and a polite service are more important than the staircase and extra amenities, so I was very happy with what we got.

Found this hotel to be very good value for money. It is located in an ideal position for both the metro (3 stops to Gare du Nord) and for excellent restaurants around Monmatre (Sacre Coeur). Whilst the decor is not top class the rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in. Would definitely stay in this hotel again due to the cost, location and standard of cleanliness.

Staff were very friendly on check in, however we were put into a room on the sixth floor (the very top) which seemed quite small due to the low ceilings. The tv was suspended so high it was impossible to watch unless lying as far back on the bed as possible. Bathroom was clean but room wasn't, carpets needed a good vacuuming, lots of dust. There is construction going on on Rue Clignancourt which starts very early in the morning which makes sleeping in impossible, it looks like major work so I'd highly suggest avoiding this place for the next few months. You definitely get what you pay for with this hotel and it was only chosen due to the better reviews on here for Eurostar hotel packages, but I definitely wouldn't be staying again.

I'd suggest walking up Rue Clignancourt as it's much nicer and you don't get hassled by street vendors/sellers like on Boulevard Barbes as this street made me feel very uncomfortable as a woman.

Great location, 2 blocks from metro station and can walk (20') to Montmartre. Very good value, U$75/ night. Free internet, good breakfast. Small rooms, but we didn't go to Paris to stay in a hotel room, but no elevator.
