2 adults and 2 (younger) teenagers stayed for one Saturday night as part of a weekend break.

The rooms are on the small side as typical for a non-chain French hotel, but are exactly as described on the hotel website. Probably not for you if you have several large suitcases as you’ll have difficulty locating them and the wardrobe space is pretty much for overnight clothes only. However the rooms were spotlessly clean, as were the bathrooms. Water in the shower was hot and powerful – not the dribble you often find in French hotels, and the beds were big and comfortable, with great duvets. Wifi is free - variable in the rooms but fine in the reception.

We made a last minute booking but the hotel managed to give us two rooms next to each other so the kids had their own room. What was good was that both these rooms were behind a separate door which could be opened by either individual room key – so the kids had their privacy but we had the security of being in the same section as them. It wasn’t the high floor as some have recommended so we only the front room got a side view of the Eiffel Tower if you looked slantways out the window, but you do get a great view from the higher floors.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived well before check in after an early flight to Paris, but one of the rooms was already ready so we could leave our case. The hotel also looked after our luggage on the Sunday whilst we toured Paris all day.

Breakfast in the small vaulted basement was great. (Note hotel is currently doing free breakfast promotion for March 2013.) Options includes bacon, sausages, eggs, cereal, cheeses, croissants, pastries, juice, hot drinks, all in a buffet style – excellent and freshly cooked. This free breakfast turned a good value stay into excellent value.

The hotel is a very convenient 5 min (max) walk from the Ecole Militaire metro station. Walk back that way from the hotel and cross the road and you are at the Ecole Militaire itself on Pl. Joffre from where you can take the delightful walk through the park up to the Eiffel Tower. Head in slightly the other direction from the hotel and you are at Les Invalides in 5 mins as well. It’s very conveniently located.

All in all, a good value, great little find in the 7th Arrondissement, close to the Eiffel Tower.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and couldn't be happier.....Great View of the Eiffel Tower Room 45.... Comfy bed....spotless rooms....very cosy and homely and always a smile from reception staff. After reading the great reviews about this sweet boutique hotel we booked it with the hope of that special view it promises....Well not to be let down....it delivers with flying colours on all of the above mentioned.....should we visit Paris in the future we most definitely will book this hotel again, its little gem....there will be no reason to want to stay anywhere else. Keep coming back to this hotel because it feels like coming home. Staff are very friendly, helpful and provide excellent service. The rooms are cozy, well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Each time I come back they make improvements, Televisons are really big, wifi is the best of all the hotels I had been in on this trip and work in the rooms and the lobby. Breakfast was included and is plentiful with eggs, meats, breads, juices and great coffee.

The lobby has a small bar and each trip I spend a lot of time reading and on my laptop and feels like I am in my own living room. I might add that there is an iMac desktop computer with printer in the lobby area.

The hotel is located in the 7th district and I feel very safe walking around the 7th district, it's a short walk to the Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Metro, Rue Cler, and many wonderful local restaurants that are good and priced fairly. I am in my 70's and have wandered around in the daytime as well as night time and have never had a problem. I personally love the 7th district, it's warm, friendly and I feel like a resident here instead of a tourist.

The key to any great hotel is the staff, and trust me, the team at this property is one of the best. I would not consider any other hotel in Paris and will continue returning to the Hotel Duquesne.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Duquesne Ave to get a great view of the city and/or the Eiffel Tower.

Fabulous find in the 7th Arrondissment. Short walk to the Eiffel Tower, Metro, Hop On Hop Off bus stop, several restaurants and the Rue Cler street market. We stayed here for 4 nights in 2011, and I was prompted to write this review, as we are re-visiting Paris in May, and have re-booked a room at the Duquesne Eiffel. The rooms are tiny, but perfectly formed. They are very clean and look to be freshly renovated. Air conditioned and sound proofed (there was construction going on across the street, and we never heard a thing). The staff are very welcoming and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There was a shoe cleaning machine in the Lobby, and a little shoe cleaning kit in the room, which was replaced daily (lovely touch, as your shoes get so dusty walking around the Tower and the grounds of the Louvre etc.) The 7th is a lovely area with tree lined streets and lovely old apartment buildings. Continental breakfast is available at the Hotel, but there are cafes within a short walking distance, giving you the opportunity to people watch as you eat. We loved the area and loved being able to stroll down to the Tower of a night and watch the light show. You could never tire of that. We also loved the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel, and Leeloo, their official mascot.

Room Tip: I would choose a Comfort room over a Standard - the Comfort is tiny, so the Standard must be very sm...

Very friendly English speaking staff on this hotel. It is a walking distance to Eiffel Tower. There's a lot of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Room is clean although the commode is separated from the bathroom and no sink. Quiet quaint town. Safe to walk even at night. You can walk to get to Metro Train. Contrary to what they say as French being snubs I find them helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included and was awesome. They have a little breakfast buffet place and is clean and staffs are friendly. I will recommend this friendly hotel. Very reasonable price for the cleanliness, friendliness and quietness of this place.

The hotel is located very close to the Eiffel Tower and other big attractions. It is also near some very good restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I have stayed at 5 other hotels in the center of Paris and this one was by far our favorite.

The Hotel Duquesne Eiffel was a wonderful place to stay. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Duquesne for two nights in the first week of January. The hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful. The hotel staff was able to fulfill all of my requests. Everything from room selection to assistance with printing out tickets for tourist attractions. The hotel is very clean and is close to a metro station. The rooms are fairly small, but they are really nice rooms with great views of the city. Our room had a balcony looking directly at the Eiffel Tower and it was unbelievable! The breakfast in the hotel was really nice and is in a cozy little basement area that was a great way to start the day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was a fantastic place to stay. I hope I can stay there again when I visit Paris in the future.
