“Paris romance close to the Eiffel”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Myself and my wife stayed at the Hotel Duquesne Hotel last November during our Parisian trip and were given the Superior room 45 which was just fantastic. The room was decently big (-considering the average room size of Paris hotels) and had a great view of the Eiffel Tower. I should confess that I expected the bed to align right in front of the window ... so that I could get the best view just lying on the bed. But alas you need to sit at the corner of the bed to view the Eiffel tower at its best .... and no doubt the sight is magnificent and the tower looks glorious in all its beauty when it sparkles every hour during the night. This made our stay more memorable as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations

The staff at the reception were really helpful and friendly and the breakfast down in the cellar had a variety of delicacies and savories which was something I looked forward to each morning. The internet in the room worked well too so it was easy to stay connected. There are a couple of Metro stops within a few minutes walk and the along with the Eiffel Tower, The Rodin Museum, War Museum, Les Invalides and Napoleons Tomb are in short walking distances.

I would definitely consider staying at this hotel and recommend this to all couples looking to get a experience of the Paris romance and beauty

Room Tip: If you want a room with a view of the Eiffel, pay the extra money and get one of the corner rooms on...

I checked this hotel at Tripadvisor and tried to book it. And I have to say that Tripadvisor is correct. The lobby at hotel is very cozy, nice design. The room was very small, but cute, the furniture was not shabby as in many other small hotels in Paris. The bath room is also very small, but very clean and comfortable, equipped with the basic arrangements. The price is very good value for money. I would rather prefer the room not oriented to the street which is quite noisy, but that is Paris. The bonus is the view from a small balcony window....I can directly see Eiffel Tower. :-). Highly suggested from me.

We stayed at this hotel during a Parisian heat wave in Aug 2012. It was one of the few places we went that had A/C. The triple room was a little tight for 2 adults and 1 child, but generous by Parisian standards. We opted not to include breakfast as we thought it was a bit pricey. The room was very quiet, and looked out onto a busy thoroughfare, but it was amazingly quiet. The neighborhood is perfect for easy access to Paris sites, especially Les Invalides and the Eiffel Tower (both walking distance), and within 2-3 blocks walk you have several cafes, a grocery store, and a self-serve laundromat. We felt very safe at night, but watch out for the pickpockets near the Eiffel Tower. The front desk staff was extremely helpful.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower. It's worth it, even if you have to lean out the...

Hello,

We’re so glad that you enjoyed your time with us.

We are indeed really lucky about the location, and it’s good to know that you took advantage of it.

As you wrote, the rooms are quite small, but when you’re in a Hotel built in the 19th century, it’s hard to get much space, but it’s also a part of its charm!

We would really like to welcome you back soon, please keep in touch through the social networs!

Best regards.

After much searching and comparing, booked this hotel for our visit to Paris last November. On arrival at the hotel the young lady at the front desk greeted us with a friendly smile and very helpful attitude. Finding out this was our first visit to Paris, she produced a map and explained the locations of the major tourist attractions, the best way to get there, an area of restaurants where we might get a more authentic dining experience, and was only too happy to make a restaurant reservation if we wished. The room was fantastic, the view was outstanding and the staff were a credit to the hotel. We would return to this hotel in a heartbeat, and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: For a good view of the Eiffel Tower book a superior room with a balcony, but you may need to book ea...

What a fantastic hotel.

The reason for our trip was to celebrate New Year and for a surprise proposal. I got in touch with the hotel with the view to securing an upgrade to our room so that we had a view of the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately, we had only booked a standard room and all suites etc. had been sold during the time we were there. To make up for our disappointment, Julia, one of the receptionists arranged for a bottle of champagne to be waiting in our room upon our arrival.

Prior to our visit, Julia was extremely helpful. I really cannot compliment the hotels staff enough for their help. As I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend, I emailed Julia for her help and she arranged everything for me. She sorted a booking in the Cafe Romanitca, which is located 2 minutes away from the hotel and is in a fantastic location. As I planned on proposing post-12 on New Years, she also sorted it so that when we got back from our night out there was a celebratory bottle of champagne and roses waiting for us in the room.

The staff were the most helpful I have experienced anywhere in the world. I literally inundated them with emails prior to our stay. They sorted everything and the location was fantastic, five minute walk from the Metro station.

The hotel was lovely, decor and everything was beautiful. The room, though small, was perfect for our four day break.

No matter what I say, I don't think I can explain how appreciative I am of all the staffs help as well as how perfect the hotel was for us.

I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Paris.

Wouldn't recommend Paris at New Year though. All the attractions our overly busy. I am talking 3-4 hour queues for trips up the Eiffel Tower, 2 hour queues for The Louvre etc. Also, at midnight on New Year, I expected an amazing countdown at the Eiffel Tower and a firework display, instead I got nothing and a bottle of champagne stolen behind my back!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite to get a view of the Eiffel Tower

Hotel is ideal...
Fantastic location...
So close to the Metro line which will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go in Paris...
Room was lovely...amazing view of the tower, stayed for 3 nights...had a little fridge in the room with water, wine, chocolates etc..
Receptionists were so helpful and showed us how to use the Metro to get to all the tourist spots!!!!
Would recommend going to the supermarket for lite bits like breakfast...cafes are expensive when it comes to little things like croissants and coffee....
Will stay here again!!!!!

On checking in, we were told our room has been upgraded. Didn't know about it until we walking into the room and saw the Eiffel Tower out the window! WOW. The room was small but there's only two of us so not an issue.
The staff were excellent, helpful in all aspects. We are talking about day staff, night staff and some of the staff we met in the corridors.
6-7 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. Plenty of good restaurants and public transport around. Local traffic was quiet so not an issue. Room was adequately ventilated/heated. Small bathroom, but hey it has a shower/bath, toilet and sink. Don't need much more. Hard to find a better bathroom view than this one.

Room Tip: Room 46 has a view of the Eiffel Tower.
