We have just come back from a weekend break in Paris, we stayed at the duquesne Eiffel for 3 nights and had a lovely stay.
The hotel is about a 10 minute stroll from the Eiffel tower, and 15 minutes from Montparnasse. The nearest metro station was only 3-4 mins away (ecole militaire) which is on line eight and seems to be very central, we only used the metro and found it very quick and easy.
We had a superior room on the fifth floor (room 54) which was lovely, the level of cleanliness was excellent, the staff were all very friendly and extremely knowledgable about the area, and we certainly picked their brains enough! They gave us advise on the metro, opening times of places, restaurant recommendations (very good restaurants) and even put a half bottle of champagne and a card saying 'happy anniversary' in the room as we told them it was our anniversary, which was a lovely surprise when we got to our room. You can also book a shuttle from Charles de gaulle airport to the hotel via the hotel by emailing them your flight details, which was 36€ for two, but got cheaper the more people there are. We found this very convienient as it is only about 25 mins from the hotel and much better then getting the trains.
The view from our balcony was fantastic, we had the eiffel tower one way, and montparnasse in the other, it is on a main road which seems to be quite on the weekend but busy during the week, however this was not a problem as the double glazing was very good. The mini bar is very reasonably priced, and although there are no tea or coffee making facilities you can request it from reception (there is no room service as it is a little boutique so you do have to go and ask) however we didn't feel that this was a problem.
The shower was really nice and powerful which is unusual but very welcome, although larger people may find there is not much space in the shower.
Breakfast was really good, a very French selection of bacon and eggs, crossiants, pain au chocalat and bread with a selection of preserves and yogurts. Breakfast is self service but tea and coffee are sever by the pleasant breakfast staff, in a lovely cellar which is bright but cosy.
We had no complaints with the hotel and are already planning to go back to Paris (which we loved) and when we do we will definately stay at the Duquesene Eiffel, and would urge everyone to do the same!
