Hotel du Cadran Tour Eiffel
Ranked #288 of 1,809 Hotels in Paris
Reviewed July 19, 2014

The Hotel du Cadran is in a great location a very short walk from the Eiffel Tower. Easy access to several Metro stops, but if you are inclined you can walk to meant things including The many of the top museums and sites. There is good shopping close by for everything from food to clothes to fine stationary and fine pens. There is also a vast selection of many restaurants close by serving both french classics as well as other cuisine. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for anything, but frankly, we really didn't ask for much. The design of the hotel is nice and consistent with the pictures. The WiFi worked well and was free. only negatives were: 1. the noise that comes through the doors is loud. This is both coming from the hall, when you are in the room and coming from the rooms when you are in the hall. 2. Our 4 AM wake up call to catch our flight was 15 min late and I can't imagine the guy at the desk had a lot going 3. There was not one non-international news station in English on TV. Would I stay there again? Maybe but I would investigate others of the many hotels in the area as the location was the hotel's true value.

Dear guest,

Thank you for letting us such a nice and detailed review. We are joyful to read that you enjoyed your stay with us.

The hotel’s location is particularly nice, close to the Eiffel Tower you can also visit Paris easily thanks to the numerous busses which are passing close and the metro station Ecole Militaire on line 8. The rue Cler is very charming and pedestrian with many shops and restaurants.

About your negative points, we are sorry to know that your wake up call had 15 min late, we will investigate to know what happened as it will not happen again. We are very surprise to know that you heared some noise from your door and from the hall, the hotel is quiet and has a good sound insulation. We are sorry for the abscence of English news channel, we will work on that point to improve it.

We will be glad to welcome you again for your next stay in Paris.

Best regards,
Cadran Hotel Team

Stayed here from 1-5 July 2014. Great hotel in a nice quiet and elegant residential area walking distance to the Eiffel Tower. Great breakfast. I did not like the decor of the rooms as I found them very generic and cold but of course that is very personal. There is a design issue with the showers as no doors mean there is water everywhere. Overall recommend the hotel I'd you want to stay in the area. I decided on another hotel on my return trip a couple of weeks later..

Dear guest,

Thank you for your nice review and notation. We are glad to know that you liked your stay with us.

Indeed, we have a really great location, at 10 min walk to the Eiffel Tower. Also, the rue Cler is particularly nice and charming with many restaurants, cafés and shops.

We are sorry to read that you did not like our decoration, we wanted to have a nice and modern feel. About the shower, all of them are Italian showers which means no doors as we could save some space in the bathroom.

As you choose an other hotel for your next visit, we hope that you will have a good time.

Sincerely yours,
Cadran Hotel Team

Service is excellent. Rooms are well kept, tastefully decorated, and good size. Location is great -close to The Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides with stores and restaurants just outside the doors. Breakfast buffet is small, but good quality. Would recommend this to a friend and I would definitely visit again.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for your very good review of your stay at the Cadran Hotel. We are very grateful to know that we met your expectations and that you liked our decoration.

Yes, we have the chance to be in this great area at only 10 min walk to the Eiffel Tower, 15 min to the Invalides and next to the Seine. Also, it is very easy to visit Paris by bus or metro, the area is very well deserved by public transportations.

We are looking forward to welcome you again next time.

Best regards,

Excellent location with many shops and restaurants nearby; area seems safe even late at night. Hotel has a modern feel; room was small but that's typical in Paris. Shower was small and I would have liked better lighting in the bathroom and in the hallway; otherwise, no complaints. Staff was cordial and very helpful; rooms clean and well maintained. Overall, a very good choice in the Rue Cler area.

We visited Hotel du Cadran this month. My husband and I stayed in a king room and our adult children (23 and 25) shared a room with two twins. Both rooms were beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. Yes, the rooms are not big by American standards but we had plenty of room for our suitcases and to hang clothes. The kids' room on the lower floor even had a small patio which we only used briefly as the weather was cool and rainy while we were there. The location is terrific; around the corner is a pedestrian-only street lined with shops and restaurants. We used the local metro on a few occasions, choosing to walk as much as we could in spite of the weather. The hotel staff was gracious and helpful. This is a lovely small hotel in an outstanding location.

Dear Sandy,

We are so grateful for your amazing comment about your stay in our hotel. It is such a great pleasure to read that everything went as you wished. We do all our best to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

As you said, the rooms are small comparing to the American standards but we are on the average size of parisian hotels.

The parisian weather is partularly capricious, but, at a couple of days you missed an amazing warm and sunny weather. We hope that next time you will have a better one.

We hope to see you for your next parisian stay.

Kind regards,
Cadran Hotel Team

We have stayed at the du Cadran over the years many times. This month we returned after a seven year absence. The location is still great: many good restaurants and great specialty markets (note the Epecerie Fine next door - absolutely top quality) as well as access to the metro and a short stroll to the Eiffel tower and the Seine. It is a great neighborhood. On the other hand the rooms are quite small, light in the bathroom is poor, the shower miniscule, not all the room lights worked and a utter lack of drawer and shelf space. The elevator remains creaky and if memory is correct, is slower than ever. The charming basement breakfast room remains but with improved breakfast selections. One does not come to Paris to remain in ones hotel room but the Cadran requires two people to be up close and personal. As noted the location is excellent. One tip: try riding the #69 bus starting at its terminus near r. Ste Dominique and av. de la Bourdannais to be sure to get a seat. Its route will take you past many of the notable sites of Paris. If you insist on sitting down and snacking on the r. Cler as of this writing try Le Petit Cler. If you visit during the correct season do not miss the oysters at the stand outside the PTT café close to the Motte-Picquet end of the r. Cler. There are drawbacks to the hotel but as in real estate location may trump them.

Room Tip: Quieter as you go up and away from the street BUT room size varies and can be tiny.

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for this nice review of your last stay with us. We are cheerful to know that over the years you still appreciate our hotel and keep coming visit us.

As you said, we have an amazing location next to the Eiffel Tower and rue Cler, an amazing and lovely street. There are many buses and the metro station Ecole Militaire on line 8, those transportations can bring you easily to many spots of the city.

Also, thank you for your remarks on the amenities of the room, we take them into account. Our rooms are in the average size of parisian hotels, it is hard to find bigger rooms in this area. About the non-working lights you had to ask the front desk to fixe them. The front desk is here for any of your needs, do not hesitate to ask.

We are looking forward to welcome you next time.

Okay.... Yes the rooms are small---but it is Paris! The layout is great and it is modern and clean. I stayed in one room with two children-- including a tall teen. We were there for three days and had a fantastic time---even Serena Williams walked by the hotel lobby as we waited for a cab. I cabbed it and used private cars because we were on the tail end of our trip and we had not had any issues with our other European stops because we erred on safety. We walked to restaurants in the neighborhood and became "regulars" at the fruit market. Hotel staff was helpful. Understand you may be across the street from the lobby and breakfast which is served in a a secluded area downstairs in the main building. My sister stayed here previously on her trip to Paris and recommended it. I have recommended it to family and friends and if I were to visit Paris again I would stay again. Safe area too!! I was there in June 2013, but I am just catching up on my reviews. The weather was perfect.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your extremely nice review, recommendation and that you have remembered to let us a review of your stay in 2013. It is a great pleasure for us to know that you enjoyed your stay and that you had a good time in our neighbourhood.

We do have a great location in Paris, really close to the Eiffel Tower and to many landmarks of the city. The rue Cler is particularly charming and pedestrian with many parisians cafés, restaurants, shops and food markets.

You have to come back to see our changes, we redecorated the breakfast room and we will reopen soon the chocolates boutique. We hope to see you soon in Paris.

Kind regards,
