We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room, although funnily shaped, was very clean and pleasant to be in (also very quiet at night) . We did not take breakfast as we thought it was overpriced; there were plenty of cafes nearby though where we easily could grab something to eat in the morning. Staff spoke English and was very pleasant. Location is really good - it's a 20 minute walk to Louvre or Sacre Coeur in Montmartre. Definitely recommended for those enjoying 3-star hotels and not requiring any luxuries.

So, we stayed in this hotel for 6 nights, and we were quite pleased with it. The room wasn't that small (we had a triple), but the bathroom was, but it was very clean which was important to us. The hotel has a great location, you can reach everything quickly, there's a market across the street and cafés and restaurants around the corner. Also the Gallerie Lafayette is near which is great for shopping. The staff was friendly and they could speak english good enough and they were very helpful. The only problem is the WiFi which doesn't work properly, we bought an account for 10 € for 7 days, but the three of us couldn't be on the same account at the same time. To sum up, this is a great one for anyone who wants a nice, clean hotel, with a great location, but doesn't want to spend the whole day in their room.

So, this hotel isnt grand and its not luxury. There are no frills and the rooms are small/the bathrooms tiny but every time we visit Paris (yearly, sometimes more) this is where we choose to stay. The location is excellent, the staff friendly, helpful and hard working. The rates are reasonable for Paris so what more could you ask for? Theres a supermarket opposite, a lovely little bar Le Comet just down the road, a fantastic bakery around the corner and we absolutely love this place. You can get the bus to Gare Nord on the next street if you have luggage with you or its about a 10 minute walk. Only thing I would advise is take your own travel kettle. We always sleep well here and couldnt imagine visiting the city and staying elsewhere. We visited 5th Dec and then went on to Lille to stay in the 4 Star Carlton Grand at double the price of here - which hotel gets my vote as being better?- The Royal Bergere hands down. We had a room on the 7th floor which was REALLY spacious and quiet and have no complaints at all. I understand not everyone will feel this hotel is suitable for them but if your looking for reasonably priced, safe, clean accomodation with great staff as a base to explore then this has to be a contender, if not a winner.

Room Tip: 7th floor family rooms are much more spacious than the twins/doubles on other floors.

Still not sure how they got their rating: no coffee maker, no toiletries ( railway station stile dispenser), expensive, a minuscule room and an expensive, slow wi-fi, plain looking property.

All in all, the experience I had was much closer to that in an average Parisian two star hotel than a self respecting three star hotel.

The location is nice, a little noisy but central, if you like that neighborhood.

Cannot really recommend. I left feeling that I did not get my money's worth

This is a well located hotel, just down the road from Folies Bergere and near both Cadet and Grand Boulevards metro.
Smells from the Mexican restaurant next door leak into the lobby of the hotel.
The hotel is in poor decorative state with old and outdated carpets, bathrooms and facilities; it is quite clear the place is run by a cheapskate. breakfast costs 9 euros.
There is no WIFI except one which doesn't work properly and costs 2 Euro for 15 minutes. In this day and age charging for WIFI makes bad business sense. The irony is that if they had WIFI that was free and worked they could get away with not renovating the hotel at all.
I was so angry about it that the next morning I went to a hotel a few doors down Hotel Gat Folies which was modern had free WIFI and tasty breakfast for 6 euros..

From Notes: Very helpful weekend staff-especially young lady from Bulgaria; easy communication; excellent location; breakfast adequate but not spectacular (unchanged since 2007); laundramat and market right across the street; two blocks to Grand Boulevard Metro; generally quiet on upper floors; TV worked okay; at 100 Euros a night including breakfast, a reasonable price; manager very personable and helpful; elevator works fine; clean rooms; large rooms; clean bathroom.

Room Tip: Top two floors reduce street noise.

This hotel is good if you are on a budget. The room was small (twin beds) but clean. The breakfast was good, with fresh croissants a highlight each morning. The hosts were helpful with directions and the metro was conveniently close.

Room Tip: There is a lift, so it doesn't matter which level you stay on. If I had a choice, I would pick a...
