“Good location, nice neighbourhood”
Reviewed November 8, 2013 via mobile

Stayed in this hotel during the summer for three nights in 2011; the location is not too bad, at the quiet street of a pleasant local neighbourhood and about 10 minutes' walk to the Convention metro station. Since the hotel is not too near the city centre, you can escape the tourist rush and watch the locals' daily lives on your way to the metro station. There are also many cafes and several nice boutiques nearby. Breakfast is not included though. The room is quite spacious by Parisian standard, tastefully decorated and comes with a small bath. There was no lift at the hotel as of the year i stayed there, I had to lug my heavy suitcase six floors up the narrow staircase. On the day I checked out, the loud thud of my luggage on the stairs alarmed the receptionist and the genial old man rushed upstairs to check on me. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. I thanked the receptionist for their service and he good-naturedly said that they would install a lift next time.

This well-located hotel looks as a French hotel should outside. Inside it has modern baths and beds (great) and wonderful large windows. Steps from Notre Dame on the Ile de France you can cross any of the bridges to fabulous Parisian sights. Breakfast was included at their "sister" hotel 2 doors away.We felt the price was high but it included breakfast and then all hotels in this location were all high. I would stay there again. If you need luxurious accommadations, look elsewhere but be prepared to spend more.

We stayed for 5 nights in this hotel and were extremely disappointed for the following reasons;

- the room was dark even when all the lights were on
- the air conditioning didn't work (even when the window was closed)
- the "double bed" consisted of two single beds pushed together, meaning that we continually fell down into the crack in the middle (we asked about this and were told all rooms were the same)
- there was no wifi in the rooms (only in reception)
- there was no iron available for use (either in the room or in the hotel)
- only two of the three plug sockets worked
- the safe didn't work
- the bath drain was broken and had to be removed before water would drain
- the carpet was extremely worn and stained
- the room was so small that with one big suitcase and a small suitcase, we couldn't get around the bed (having just come from an actual 4* hotel where the room was at least twice the size)
- the pillows were lumpy
- an additional charge of 36 euros was charged at the end of the stay, despite being told at the beginning of the stay that the additional "tax" was only 1 euro per person per night

The sole good thing about this hotel was its location close to a metro stop and a lovely patisserie. On one evening there was also a helpful man on reception who assisted in booking a restaurant on a Sunday (when everything in Paris closes...).

I've stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions for business, as we attend a trade show just next to it.
On the good side, it is the cheapest hotel around, and it's very close to the Palais des Expositions. If you walk 10-20 minutes (depends which way you go) you can get to some nice areas (i.e Convention), with restaurants, etc. Breakfast is OK, a buffet with some decent choice. The staff is rather pleasant, generally speaking.
Other than that, it is quite bad overall. There are a few decent rooms in the hotel, but most of them are rather terrible. Everything is very old, smells like dust; sheets don't look clean - neither do walls or bathrooms actually. Beds are not really comfortable. You can hear every noise from any room on the floor. The elevator is the smallest I've ever seen (1 person with a suitcase fits, nothing more) and probably the slowest, too. Avoid rooms on the highest floors if you have heavy luggage, or you could wait quite some time before you're able to get down.
In one of the rooms I stayed in, the shower is at knee level, and is merely 2 Ft long - try having a shower with that!
If price was 40% lower than what it is, you could say you get what you pay for. But at the current level of price, I can't recommend this hotel.

Terrible hotel. Can't be more dissappointed. Not worth either the price or the quality of stay.
A hotel like this in Paris is certainly not needed. Its own rating is not valid and full of stains on the carpets.
