“Definitely recommend this attractive boutique hotel”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

This is a small, attractive hotel on a quiet street right off of Madeline in a great central location in Paris. You can walk to the Louvre, Avenue des Champs-Elysee, and Seine River. Metro and bus stops are conveniently located to get you everywhere else. We had a sunny triple room for three people - comfortable queen-size bed and a twin bed for the three of us. The bathroom was a nice size as well. It was quite roomy by European standards. The concierge / manager, I believe her name was Madame Maury, was extremely helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations, and she arranged for a taxi to get us to the airport very early in the morning. Everyone spoke English and was patient when we tried to muddle through our rarely used college French. The only negatives were the elevator which is extremely small - but similar to many other European elevators, and the AC which was not as robust as we may have wanted on warm Paris nights - but sufficient. We were on the fifth floor so it was necessary to use the elevator. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Paris - which we hope is not in the too distant future!

Room Tip: I understand the single and double rooms are small. The triple room was quite roomy.

Lovely little hotel, we stayed for 3 nights and liked it so much that we booked it again for 1 more night on our return from the South of France, Sadly it was our last night in Paris.. Rooms were small but clean and comfortable, you really don't stay in your room that much anyway and the location was perfect, Walking distance to great restaurants The staff was most courteous and helpful, they even let me attempt to speak French,
Thank goodness the day clerk spoke English. Nice little Tabac close by to grab a bite to eat. I would go back in a minute.. J'aime Paris.

Lovely hotel situated in a quiet street not far from the Madeline – in fact, leaning out the window I could see some of the columns at the end of the street. My double room was slightly on the small side, though I’ve experienced smaller, but it was very clean and nicely decorated. Roger & Gallet toiletries provided. Breakfast was good though a bit pricey at 10.50€ (tip = Fauchon’s boulangerie (eat in or take away) is nearby if you fancy a treat). Would be happy to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights at the start of July for our anniversary enroute from London. The hotel is small and cozy with small rooms. We booked a superior room with a queen bed facing the street. The air conditioning was sufficient and we could control the temperature. We also had free wifi which was helpful for planning our excursions.

All the front desk staff we encountered were very helpful and spoke English. The room and the bathroom were very clean and the room got cleaned everyday. The bathroom had the usual ammenities; shower gel and bath soap. There is a trouser press but no iron or ironing board in the room, but when we called the front desk to request one, it was brought up promptly. There was a minibar stocked with water, drink and liquor but they were very expensive. Skip the mini bar and use the supermarket across the street. We tried their breakfast one morning since it was not that expensive 10.50 euro/person. It was a traditional french breakfast, croissants, baguettes, jelly, yogurt and some other stuff. Everything was fresh so it was OK.

The hotel is close to the Madeleine church and metro station which is about 5 minutes away. The Opera station is one stop away and the Opera house is right there as you get out of the station. We were also within walking distance of the Place de la Concorde, Tuileries Gardens, and Champs-Elysées. We were out each night until after midnight and always felt safe heading back to the hotel from the metro station. Also, there is an elementary school across the street but if your window is closed when school starts you will barely hear the kids, but if you have really loud neighbors in the adjoining rooms you will hear them because the walls are thin.

We really didn't spend much time in our room because we were out sight-seeing but we would definately recommend this hotel.

Great location, near Madeleine Church and metro station. Walking distance from restaurants, cafe´s and some of Paris most important seightseeing. Little room but that is common in Europe, clean bathroom and a really safe district. Paris is beautiful and I enjoyed my time in Paris and in this hotel. If you don´t expect american big chain hotels, this is your choice.

Really didn't know what to expect when i booked this hotel. After 2 days reading reviews of every hotel in Paris i decided to go for this one as the reviews i had read were all pretty good. Finding a nice hotel in Paris is very hard if you don't want to spend more than £250 per night but i was very happy with my choice to stay at Hotel Alison.

The staff we met were very friendly and polite, they gave us directions whenever we asked, recommended nice bars / restaurants plus spoke to us in English after hearing our ridiculously poor attempts at speaking French.

The rooms are basic and pretty small (still comfortable, not cramped), but when spending a long weekend in Paris who wants to spend time in their hotel room?! Was ideal for just sleeping / showering in etc. Very clean, bed was pretty comfortable and even had a small balcony. We didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on that. Shame there was no tea / coffee making facilities in the room but there was a mini bar which wasn't too overly priced.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, it's fantastic. 2 minute walk to Madeline, 10 minutes to Champs-Elysees, 15 to Louvre and about 25 to the Eiffel Tower (the way we walked anyway)! Nice bars and restaurants nearby but it is quite an expensive area to stay in so be warned.

All in all a really lovely trip to Paris and if i were to go again i would definitely consider staying here again. Especially considering some of the horror stories i have heard about other nearby hotels which were much more expensive!

Great hotel in quiet street. Lovely interior decor and good sized room. There is a supermarket over the road and a larger Monoprix about 5 mins walk away. Close to several metro stops and within walking distance of gardens, Madeline church, art galleries and the Louvre. Top Paris fashion stores and boutiques are south and north east of the hotel.
The staff were pleasant and very helpful and happy to speak English. Overall a very pleasant experience.
The breakfast was simple but huge and mini bar prices very reasonable.
