We found this hotel to be a good value in Paris. The neighborhood is clean with good restaurants nearby and you have easy access to the metro to get you to all the sites. We found the front desk staff to be friendly and helpful, elevators are small but what do you expect in Paris? Pack light and you can take the stairs. You are also right by the train station which takes you to the airport so it is a very convenient location.

Perhaps depending on the room, you can expect a very clean room with impeccable cleaning service daily, decent towels, TV, etc. The location has its positive and negative points -- it is nicely situated at a fair distance away from throngs of tourists. However, in the summer, when many of the surrounding restaurants are closed for holidays you may find yourself with a bit of a walk to get to a restaurant -- 5 or 10 minutes at least. Not a big fan of blankets on beds (do they ever get washed?) or carpets (ditto) but I will most definitely stay at the Novanox again.

This was a very nice hotel in a good location. It was about a 10 minute walk away from jardin du luxemburg. It is located in st Germain des pres on Montparnasse Blvd which was a very nice area, not too "touristy" or crowded like areas around the eiffel tower. The rooms are of decent size, my only complaint is that the toilet and shower/sink were in different rooms. We had a room with a balcony overlooking montparnasse blvd which was very nice. There is also a bakery right next to the hotel and a metro station about a 7 min walk away which was very convenient. This was my third time staying in paris and this was the best accommodation i've stayed at so far (due to the price, room and location). The staff were also very nice, they knew the area really well and were able to answer all of our questions in english. I would come back again the next time I am in paris.

This hotel is located on Montparnasse Blvd a little bit down from the Port Royal RER. My room had a small balcony overlooking the boulevard. The downside of this was that noise on the boulevard continues throughout the night making it difficult for light sleepers to get much rest. The room was on the small side, but the shower and basin area was even smaller. There was not much room to store my clothes. The building elevator is tiny, making it very cozy for two people and not at all usable by more than two. If you're on a lower floor the stair climb might be O.K. But 5 flights up and down twice each day gets somewhat tedious. Breakfast is expensive but a reduced price version is served in late morning, if you want to wait. I didn't use the air conditioning because there was a pleasant evening breeze each night, but it's there if you need it. Also, the TV has a couple of English language channels which I only watched early in the morning to catch the news headlines. Otherwise, a variety of publications are available in the lobby area each morning, including the IHT. Wi-Fi is available and you can also rent a computer at the front desk. The location is excellent for restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping (including the big stores), and public transportation access. There's a nice market twice a week and Edgar Quinet. Heading north on Boulevard Raspail you can get to the Latin Quarter and cross over the Seine to Notre Dame. Luxembourg Gardens is nearby. But this is not a luxury hotel, 3 stars would be generous, so I recommend it only for those used to minimalist design.

This 3* hotel is just about 500 ft away from the Luxembourg Gardens, right on Boulevard Montparnasse in the 6th arrondissement. It is a terrific location! Besides, it does not matter if you are arriving through Charles de Gaulle or Orly: in both cases the express train (RER B) will take you to Port Royal station, which is really within walking distance (300 ft) from the hotel, without the need to connect with a subway line (walking with your suitcases through Paris subway system can be a real nightmare!). The hotel itself in installed in an old Parisian building so you can expect some rooms to be better than others. Ask for one with a proper "Salle de Bains", with a bathtube and you will not be let down. The rooms are of decent sizes, and completely furnished, including a working table, flat screen tv, minibar (also furnished), hair drier, safe and high quality toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc - which is a sign of self respect). Bed linnen and towels are new and comfortable. The breakfast is decent but you have also other choices within walking distance in the local "cafés" if you want to change a little.
The staff is super courteous and helpful. The prices are usually OK - if you cannot find something good on the internet call the hotel and talk to the local manager.
This place is really my first choice in Paris. I certainly love it.

The good thing about Novanox is its location. Directly on Boulevard du Montparnasse, there are good shops, restaurants and public transport facilities around. As regards the quality, it is correct. The rooms are fairly small but functional, and so are the bathrooms. The bed is O.K. There is really nothing special about this place, but also nothing to put you off. It's a typical place to sleep, but not to stay during the day. You didn't expect luxury in a mid-price segment Paris hotel with good location, did you?
