I stayed here for 2 nights. The receptionist wasn't as friendly. We got into the hotel ok. The hotel itself is ok, just the location - good: it's near to Gare du Nord station, bad: it's near to the pubs where people making noise at night.

There were also people pee-ing everywhere on the street so the smell wasn't as good.

Room tip: Ask for the quiet room.

Small hotel in an excellent location, right between Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. Rooms are small, beds are very comfortable, and everything is very clean. Breakfast is very, very basic. Good prices!

The place is very well connected with 2 important railway stations Gare d bird and gare d est. For the price they charge it's on the expensive side. The rooms are too small but very clean. The bathing space is too cramped for people who are above 6 ft. There were no towels in the room when I checked in and got it after half an hour. There are plenty of eating and drinking joints around which is a welcome sign. The only other positive aspect is the very friendly people in the reception who can speak English too and guide you around very well.

We stayed here last weekend just for an overnight visit. It was fine-a 6-minute walk from Gare du Nord, which is what we were looking for. The room was small but perfectly adequate with even some small toiletries provided. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable, with a top sheet and duvet and an odd, long rolled pillow but it actually functioned just fine in the end. There is a flat-screen TV with mostly French channels. The room we had faced the street and I was worried about street noise but closing the drapes and windows sealed out some and with my earplugs I slept well. The immediate neighbourhood reminds me of Times Square- dirty and loud with bars and brasseries all around. Not very pleasant but definitely not shady. In the AM though attempts to communicate with the front desk were useless as the man in charge did not speak English. They serve breakfast for a fee which we didn't get, but from the quick looks of it, looks very basic- some cereals, pastries, coffee- and not worth 6 euros.

This is a large hotel and the night I was there it was full. It is close to Gare du Nord and Gare de L'Est in a respectable working class area with a good choice of ethnic shops and restaurants. The receptionist didn't speak English but there were no problems checking in. There is a lift which was necessary as I was in the 5th floor! The room had all the necessaries though it was in need of some redecoration. The sole English language TV station was CNBC! Breakfast was the usual basic continental breakfast in a bright lit breakfast room. Although the hotel needs some redecoration I find it acceptable and would stay here again.
