We found the staff at this 2 star hotel to be rude and this also includes the restaurant staff as well. Also, in my title I said if you're an American and not from any of the Middle-Eastern countries then your basically not welcome there. It's bad enough that the Parisians don't like Americans but when people who work at the hotel are from the Middle East.....they especially don't like us Americans and they basically let us know by their actions toward us. We were very respectful and pleasant towards them so we shouldn't have gotten this treatment. Also, we found this hotel to be in not such a nice neighborhood.

Other than that, the rooms was nice and clean.

Room Tip: Other than don't stay there...... I have no tip.

This hotel is not the prettiest place in Paris! But if you are more concerned with location and just need somewhere to use as a base then it is great as it is within walking/cycling distance to many of the sights and the metro is a short walk away. The room we stayed in was a decent size and the bathroom was clean and functional.

The hotel is in a great location right beside gare de lest. The room was fine although we had to keep the window open as there was a strong smell like white spirits(we think it was used to kill bugs as we did see 1 on the blanket this morning) While my girlfriend was using the hair dryer the electricity in the room would die. This happened many times and we had to keep getting the receptionist to turn the rooms electricity back on. No breakfast was left at 8 o clock so you would want to get there earlier to be sure. Overall the room is clean cheap and in a good locaton but we would not recommend it

Booked this hotel because both of the other two hotels I use regularly in this part of Paris were full.
I booked a single and was allocated a small double at rear of hotel on first floor. The roo m was adequate, recently painted walls and a comparatively large shower room with no issues.
Double glazing kept noise levels fom outside down, although some noise from inside was present on one night in particular. No airconditioning but an electric fan provided and a small flat screen tv that had two english speaking channels both of which covered only asian business news.
The staff spoke excellent english and were friendly.
I lost the key card to my room and was given a replacement without charge.
As with most hotels in Paris in this price range it was no frills.
Don't bother paying the extra for breakfast. Choice is very limited and better value can be found locally in the brassieries or even fast food restaurants of which there are many very clost around both Gare du nord and Gare de l'Est,
The location was excellent for me as I need to be close to the transport links when I am in Paris, however be aware that the10th arrondissement of Paris is not the most attractive area of the city.
I would stay again when travelling alone. I wouldn't take my partner to this hotel for a romantic break.
Overall Hotel d'Amiens offers good value for money in what is one of the most expensive cities in the world you do get what you pay for.

Room Tip: The room I had at rear of hotel overlooked a small courtyard but was isolated from the noise of the...

We stayed here on our final night of cycling from London to Paris, we needed to be near the Gare du Nord as we had to lug our bike panniers to the hotel once we had dropped the bikes at Eurostar.

It is very close to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est so is well located for those with onward connections or who wish to be near the stations. The area is very diverse but did not feel overly unsafe, but I wouldnt recommend women to wander alone too much in this area.

The hotel had clearly seen better days and the room was tired around the edges, the beds were clean as was the room, the bathroom was a very old Olive green suite but also clean - there is no proper shower, just an attachment in the bath.

The only time we spent here was when we were asleep and from that point of view it was fine, but it really is a case of getting what you pay for - we paid under €100 for the night and it did us. Staff were friendly although we only used them for checking in and out. Breakfast was offered at €9 but we sourced ours from elsewhere.

Can get quite noisy from the street.

It takes less than five minutes to walk here from Gare du Nord and only a few more from Gare de l'Est so this is extremely convenient. It should be noted that this is a very poor area of the city, but it is full of tourists. For Paris this is quite a cheap place too, but it's not a great place. The room was just big enough and the bathroom was fine. The carpet wasn't very clean and the bed a bit hard. We couldn't get the wifi to work, but the TV did and so did the heating, rather too well in fact, it was very warm. We didn't take breakfast there, but got it at a café nearby of which there are many. There are also lots of shops, banks and a market nearby. The first receptionist we met was typically Parisian and off-hand in his service, but his replacement on the second day was a very helpful pleasant lady. I would have prefered somewhere a bit nicer, but in the end it was quite OK.

a pleasant hotel, clean tidy room, comfy beds, close enough to the train station to wheel suitcases there (although it would have helped if theyd mentioned which exit to take from the station to get there more directly). Some info was not up to date regarding breakfast which is now available from the hotel
