“Perfect Birthday meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

Whilst in Paris we had spent hours trying to find the perfect restaurant for a birthday meal, eventually on the website Parisbymouth we found this gem!
Arriving to welcoming faces and a hot flannel to wash our hands with before we started our meal was an extra lovely touch. We opted for the full 8 courses but asked to change one meal from sweetbreads and they were very accommodating :) The course came out quickly initially but once we asked for them to be staggered they were again, very accommodating. Each dish was a work of art not only in look but also how it tasted, you could really taste the layers in the food and each flavour. We didn't know which wines to chose so the restaurant gave us 4 wines to match the two plates at a time and it was truly perfect :) They wouldn't be out of place with another star! The Veal and banana dish was my favorite ;)

“worthy of the 1 star ranking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

we had dinner at cobea on 19/4. Meals there are mainly by set menu and we had the 6 course which was a good thing as servings are plentiful but small. This is modern french at its best - not molecular but tasty, fresh produce ,esp seafood done well without the frills of excess cream and butter.Special mention to the pigeon course that was done medium and went perfectly with an aged volnay.Service is efficient, the wine list adequate ( they have some old wines on the list but dont expect bargains).A very enjoyable experience.

“Best meal we had in paris!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant on our second night in Paris. We were greeted at the door in a friendly manner. Start to finish the service was impeccable. We chose the 8 course meal with a four course wine pairing. The menu consists of words and the meal is ultimately the chefs choice. Just like Eleven Madison in NYC. The sommelier did an outstanding job of pairing the wines with the courses. The meal started with an amazing amuse bouche and ended with four desserts! If you enjoy fine dining at its best you must consider this restaurant on your next trip to Paris.

“Impeccable in everyway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

Someone opens the door for us. We are 15 minutes late having headed in the wrong direction when we got out of the Metro. Not a problem. We're given a choice of tables. Every table seems suitable and far enough away from others so as not to have to hear their conversations which seemed to be mostly in French anyway.

The menu is simple enough. You have to decide how many courses to have. We know from seeing their menu on their website that we'd go with the four courses. Amuse bouche type dishes seemed to start appearing almost right away and little extras continued through the meal including dessert.

Each dish is creatively presented with flavors and textures that let you know the person in the kitchen is first rate. I could not imagine eating better even at restaurants charging three or more times what we paid. The sommelier pleasantly describes each glass of wine which seems perfected paired with that I'm eating. Pacing between courses is spot on. The meal lasting just over two hours is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have ever had.
