We went here for lunch on 3rd July. My girlfriend had seen that it had recently been awarded a Michelin star and we were certainly not disappointed. The décor was classy and understated; service was professional and attentive without being overbearing and the food was wonderful.

We had the three course lunch menu, at 38€ pp. There are two choices for the entrée and the plat principal, plus delicious 'grinotages to start with and an extra unannounced soup course, which was divine. The 'gourmandises' were three different desserts, all scrumptious and quality generously-sized wine by the glass was reasonably priced.

We enjoyed the whole experience immensely and would not hesitate to return to Cobéa.

It is a truly amazing when every course is better than the last and the presentation was as beautiful as the food was good. It was my favorite meal in my recent trip to Paris. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone enjoying fantastic food in a sophisticated environment.

Cobea is the just-opened restaurant of Philippe Belissent - previously executive chef at Le Restaurant in the 6eme. Philippe & Jerome opened their own place in the 14eme in September. Everything: food, preparations, table settings, service is perfect. The menu at dinner is 4, 6, or 8 courses at 55€, 75€ or 95€. The menu changes monthly (or more frequently). Preparations are superb, whether vegetables, seafood or meat/wild game. Dessert (usually melange of 3!) is delicious. We ate there 3 timers in October and the food was fab each time. I suspect Philippe may earn his Michelin star (as he did at Le Restaurant) this coming spring. Prices will increase. While not inexpensive, it IS a bargain for what you get. Reservations are a must and can be requested on line at http://cobea.fr.
