“Decent location... good Metro access... clean rooms.”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We booked the hotel via an online discount booking site. Although it's some distance from the center of Paris it is nevertheless well located with the Metro entry merely across the street. It's in a working class suburb of Paris so nothing fancy in the immediate area.

If you're arriving from Paris Beauvais airport (Ryan Air etc.) the airport bus stop at or near Porte Mailot Metro will take you to Porte de Clichy station right near the hotel very quickly (2 stops). Thereafter the use of the Paris Metro is a must and very affordable.

We arrived early on a Wednesday 10am but a room had already been prepared and we were able to settle in. Room was small but comfortable and cosy. Clean bathroom with good water pressure. Free WiFi which at times was either slow or late at night turned off was sufficient. It served as our base for 4 days and the comfy beds were a treat after each days miles of walking and sightseeing. Our room faced the rear, over the hotel courtyard and it was quiet.

The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. We did not eat at the hotel at all. There were a few places across the street we tried. If you need a bigger spread of restaurants nearby get on the Metro back to Porte Mailot, walk out to one end of Palais de Congress and you will have a street full of them. They were really busy during the evening.

On our last day we were allowed to leave the bags in secure hold after checking out and picked them up some hours later.

All in all, for a 3 star rated hotel we had no complaints whatsoever.

Hotel room was decent and had free wifi in all the rooms - which is a plus point, considering you have to pay for wifi in other hotels in Paris. There is a Metro line directly in front of the hotel. The hotel looks rather dated, but for the price, I think it's a worth while stay in Paris. The breakfast included a good variety of croissants, bread rolls and pancakes, with the standard yogurt, 1 variety of ham, fruit salad and boiled eggs. There is no attractions around the Hotel area - other than a few small unimpressive shops here and there. There is a nice bakery just 5 minutes from the hotel, a fast food joint, and some restaurants. If you want to go Galaries Layafette, it's a direct train line to St Lazare (it takes about 20 minutes from Hotel to St Lazare) where there are plenty of shops, and it is another 15 minutes walk from St Lazare station to Galaries Lafayette.

Staff were always polite and eager to assist with anything. This is my 2nd stay in the hotel.

Convenient location for those happy to use the metro or better still hire Velib bikes (there are 20 bikes outside the main hotel entrance). Had a room on first floor facing the road but didnt find it at all noisy so the double glazing must work well. Room is best described as functional; its not huge but the beds are indeed comfortable. The staff were helpful and the breakfast wasnt bad value though choices were quite limited there was plenty to eat and the outdoor location is great if you get decent weather. On balance i would happily stay here again, especially if i found it available for under 70 pounds per night.

This hotel is clean and comfortable with helpful staff. rooms are air conditioned and quiet with comfortable beds. efficient shower with plenty of hot water.
The rooms are tiny but have everything you need - tea and coffee making, hairdryer and TV.
the restaurant has the facilities to eat inside or outside in their garden area. the food is OK although the choice is limited both at breakfast and dinner. On the outskirts of Paris but does have public transport links into the centre. A budget hotel that does what it says on the tin!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden are probably quieter but sound proofing is efficient

Here is why I recommend this hotel.
Very close to metro station. Only 200 meters. Very convenient to move in paris.
Allow early check in if room available.
A great things after 12 hours flight.
Easy access to "périphériques".
Price is acceptable.

Weakness.
The aera is not the best as you may not be always safe outside. But still ok.
Parking and breakfast overcharging.

But still recommend due to its location

Timhotel was our final stop on Cosmos European Highlights. Two night stay and we had no complaints. Small but clean room. Very safe in a working class neighborhood. Close to restaurants and literally across street from Metro. Very helpful and courteous staff. Well below typical Paris high prices. On outskirts of city but 20 minutes on Metro and you are on left bank. Nothing fancy but more than satisfactory for rest and refreshing. Note to travellers...self service laundry 600 m or so up Ave. Clichy. Would recommend and stay again.
