“On our honeymoon”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

We have been there for our honeymoon and we had a great time. Everything was beautiful. The hotel and the room was very clean and unique. Also, the staff was very kind, helpful and friendly with us.
A big thanks :)

We stayed at the Platine for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. We loved the Marilyn Munroe theme. Our room was tiny - certainly no honeymoon suite - but it was clean and the bed was really comfortable (which was a genuine double bed not two single beds pushed together like you often get in France). As for breakfast you can fill your boots on fresh fruit, pastry, toast, cold meat and cereal. The location is perfect, only about a 20 minute stroll from the Eiffel Tower which is visible from the end of the street. The only negative point (other than the tiny size of the room) was the bathroom door. It was glass and gave no privacy for both showering or using the toilet. Other than that it was great hotel to stay in. If you like funky 50's retro decor, a comfy bed, coloured downlights in the shower and croissants for breakfast this might just be the right hotel for you.

We recently stayed with La Platine hotel for only 1 night for a weekend Paris break. You can see the Eiffel Tower from outside the Hotel, the Hotel is convenienty located close to Metro (1 minute walk!) The area felt safe - we had no issues walking around this area at night.

I understand Platine recently got re-graded to 4 stars, and I think it's worth the rating. I've been to Paris many times, and the hotels I've stayed at (3 stars) are pretty sub-par. Platine was very clean, we received polite customer service & hospitality.

We were lucky - we arrived early and they upgraded us for free to a superior room, which was large (by Paris standards), with a big bathroom and small tub / spa. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was very clean. They didn't replenish the toiletries upon arrival, but one phone call and they delivered the toiletries straight away. We also asked for a late check out - which they provided complimentary until 1pm.

The hotel is Marilyn Monroe themed, so it's very kitsch in design, if you like that sort of thing. The buffet breakfast was included with the room rate, and was plentiful (hot foods, cold cuts, hot and cold drinks, jams, pastries, cereal, fruit - great selection!) The front desk was friendly upon arrival (also perfect English), and they have a room to store your bags, with no problems.

All in all, I'd highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: *Ask if the hotel is busy/full - they may give you a complimentary upgrade to the suite rooms if it...

OK location, depending on what you want to be near of course. Good facilities. I also really liked the modern feel of the overall interior design. The room was a little cramped, as was the bathroom, but for a short stay or for those wanting to walk around the city all day anyway, it is OK.

Great place for the price if you do not intend to do anything but sleep in the tiny rooms. Internet service in room is poor. Staff is very friendly but not very sophisticated so they will for example just recommend the standard brasseries. There is no construction on the weekends so stay there on Fri, Sat, & Sun nights, otherwise you need to get used to jackhammers.....all day long. After Marilyn effect wears off (after 1 day), you realize it is a very small, cramped hotel. Good place to stay fora maximum of 3 ngihts. Nice, non tourist, neighborhood.

Room Tip: ask for biggest room available and as far away from construction

We booked this hotel as a groupon deal, we had 3 nights bed and breakfast and a visit to the hamman, steam roon and sauna.
We had a very friendly welcome, it was bastille day and we were told that a firework display was due to start and directed us to where we would get the best view.
Our room was small and as we were 2 friends sharing and not a couple the glass bathroom door was a little embarassing!
We peeped at a couple of the other rooms when they wer being cleaned and they all seem slightly different and not all as small as ours.
The decor was good, very hollywood big gold mirror, gold padded headboard and sparkly tiles in the bathroom.
Complementary flip flops which I have worn regularly since as I continue my travels!
Good breakfast, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, coked items and pastries.
They have a retro style lounge, with 60's drinks cabinet stocked to help yourself, however prices were expensive considering you had to make them yourselves and ther wasnt any ice to add to the cocktails, which was a shame as we had one night in and would have liked to have sat in ther with a cold glass of wine!
The sauna and steam room is very small and a little awkward with just one room to change for both men and women!
Walking distance to seine and boat rips as well as eifel tower we walked to st germain which has some lovely bars and shops.
All in all a good option if you want to avoid the characterless chains!

Room Tip: There appeared to be a couple of rooms with terraces which would have been nice

Very good service and nicely decorated hotel meant we enjoyed our trip to Paris, However the room we stayed in was v small, (not really enough room to unpack), and whilst the location is an improving one, it has a feeling of a slightly more industrial area rather than the beautiful 18th/19th century buildings that are located in other slightly more central areas.

Overall a good value option with helpful staff and nice furnishing, but not located in the nicest neighbourhood of Paris (hence the price)
