Booked this hotel for a romantic Valentine's weekend break and we were not disappointed. The Air France shuttle (€24 rtn) took us to the Arc de Triomphe in 40mins, which was less than 5 mins walk from the hotel. Perfect base to explore Paris and walk to all of the key sites - Sacre Coeur was only 20mins on the Metro located at the Arc. Staff were very friendly, no problem with speaking English and we found an excellent variety of food for breakfast. Rooms were very clean, and though small, were compact rather than cramped - free wifi too! Would definitely go again and would recommend it, especially if you can get it with a flights deal on Expedia

Staff are great but the rooms very small and only one floor (6 rooms it seems) are non smoking. Got a smoking room :-(

Never have I had so detailed cleaning in a hotel room before. Fantastic. Breakfast quite boring and at €16 it is daylight robbery, but again staff is fine.

Our stay was very pleasant and having free wifi was very important.

But at this day and age, the television service (channels available) was very unpleasant... Mostly french channels, which for foreigners is really not welcoming...

A hotel room should make you feel somewhat at home and televison channels available didn't do the job!!

Excellent location for business end leasure visits in Paris. 5 minutes to Champs Elysee, 2 minute to Etoile Metro/RER station. Nice but small rooms (like in many other hotels in Paris).

Was looking for a hotel that was close the the sights for the New Year's celebration, and you certainly can't fault its location. Easy walking to most of the major sites, Arc de Triomphe is only 2 mins up the road, Eiffel Tower and Louvre are a little further but still walkable, or easy Metro connections nearby. However there are some problems too.

The rooms are not huge, but then it is the centre of Paris, so you don't really expect they will be. There is not a restaurant in the hotel, however you seem to be able to order from a rather extensive room service menu (I did not try the food at the hotel), and there are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. Breakfast is basic for what you pay, only a small selection of cooked foods as well as juices, cereals, pastries etc but still costs €15 a head.

The rooms themselves at first seem clean, but the more you look, the more problems you find. Nothing really appalling, but little details like tiles in the bathroom a little dirty, lots of dust buildup on the fans and other such details were not up to the usual Mercure standard.

The biggest problem we had though was the noise. Although the hotel itself is quiet, it appears to have been build above a metro line. As we were staying on the bottom floor, we could easily hear every time a train passed by. It sounded a lot like thunder from inside your house, a muffled rumble but quite loud, and it happened once every few minutes. Although it stopped us from getting to sleep initially, once I had fallen asleep it didn't wake me too often, but it would be an issue for a light sleeper. I would think that being off the bottom floor would have solved the problem and I think only 3 rooms are on the ground floor.

Overall, a very conveniently located hotel that you can't really fault. Quite expensive but would go again, requesting that I not be in rooms 101 - 103!
