“Excellent 3 star in Paris”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

I've stayed at several 3 stars in St. Germain, and this is the best, so far....

The three best things? 1) the staff is extremely friendly, even to Americans :) 2) the shower. It's huge and it works. 3) the honor bar - most hotel in Paris don't have any kind of drinks or snacks and they have plenty...

Not so good?? 1) the sound quality - it's an old building and not exactly updated 2) the bed. Pretty uncomfortable!

Definitely a great location and will stay here again!

This hotel has the feel of a private club -- most of the lobby is lounge seating, a big hearth fireplace, snack/bar area, and seating for breakfast. Reception was very helpful on check-in -- we were several hours early and they showed us to our room. This is a 16th century building which is a former private home (and then brothel) so it does not have hotel chain space and amenities. The unique details (such as exposed wood ceiling beams), however, make it a really interesting place to stay.

We stayed in a deluxe double room for two nights. The room was quite spacious and included a chaise lounge and writing desk. The room styling suited our tastes as well. The bathroom was not huge but plenty of room and the hotel supplied L'Occitane amenities. St Sulpice is a popular street due to the cathedral on the next block. It also seems to be a popular short cut street during rush hour but it was never noisy.

I wish we had spent our entire Paris trip here. As a base camp for the left bank attractions, you cannot do better than this hotel for luxury and value.

This is a wonderful quaint boutique hotel. It is well located with many restaurants nearby. The metro stop: "Odeon" is a two minute walk and there is a Starbucks closeby if the need should strike!

The main downside to this hotel is the front desk staff. During the course of the 4 nights I spent at the hotel I interacted with two gentlemen at the front desk. Both were curt, cold and unhelpful. There was none of the helpfulness one would expect as a guest in a hotel. They basically did the bare minimum to check us in and out and never smiled and barely said hello the rest of the time.

Too bad because the hotel is charming and our stay could have been made so much better with some basic courtesy.

I highly recommend this hotel, the rooms are very charming and I couldn't have asked for a better location, so close to many restaurants, boutiques and bars. I'm definitely becoming a regular! The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is a botique hotel and as such, please understand that it is somewhat different than a chain hotel. The rooms were on the small side but it is Europe so the rooms will never be the size we are accustomed to in the States. They are perfectly adequate and very, very comfortable as are the bathrooms. The bed was extremly comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. The service is outstanding and the staff is very attentive to every need that you have and/ or request. Breakfast is available for 14 euros and should be considered as just a coffee and croissant will cost at least 10 euros at any of the local restaurants. The hotel is well situated and provides easy walking access to many of the historical buildings and museums that wil interest you, if you chose to stay in the Saint-Germain section of Paris. We bought Metro passes when we arrived at the airport but never took them out of our pocket to use them. We found that walking the neighborhoods helped us be a part of the culture and learn about the area we stayed in. The people were very friendly and there is an endless supply of very respectable and enjoyable restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Odeon Saint-Germain and will stay there when we visit Paris again.

Just got back from a stay at this hotel. It is a wonderful hotel and quite well-located in the heart of St. Germain. It also is a five minute walk from the Odeon metro. I thought it was a perfect location for exploring and also getting to other parts of the city.

There was great selection for restaurants and a wonderful patisserie right around the corner!

The hotel has a great front desk, who always were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was cozy and nicely decorated. The bathroom was great, and the bath products they provide are L'Occitane -- some of my favorite!

Stayed here for four nights at end of Sept 2012. The staff is attentive and professional and all speak English for those of us not fluent in French. The lobby is cozy and the honesty bar is open at all hours. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel. We had Room 8 which was decent size for two although the bathroom was a bit on the small size which is to be expected so we were not disappointed. The room had a closet, mini-fridge & in-room safe and the hotel provides free wi-fi to guests. The location cannot be beat and all of the top tourist sites are within a 3-5 mile radius of the hotel. The local neighborhood of St Germaine is lovely and we felt safe walking at night after dinner. There are several restaurants/cafes/bars in the local area. The metro stop is a 2 minute walk away if you are looking to utilize the underground for transport. We would definitely stay here again!
