Initial impression was nice, decent location, nice room

Then NO HOT WATER, at all. When we rang reception, the answer was "yes, we know, man should have come today but not coming now until tomorrow afternoon". We are only here for 1 night! Nothing mentioned when we checked in even though they knew about it, only offer to recompense was for free breakfast, no manager on site to talk to. Overall just a disgrace

Not impressed at all in the lack of honesty, nor in the ability to appease very irate guests

Will never return

Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking time in comenting your stay with us. We must apologize about the trouble regarding the hot water problem. Unfortunately, when it occured we immediately called for an engineer but a piece of the heating system needed to be replaced and it was not available before monday morning. Do not hesitate to contact us, we will be pleased in finding a better compensation. We do remain available and apologize once more.
Best regards

Let me start off by saying that my wife and I have never stayed in a boutique style hotel in any country, this was our first experience; that being said this hotel is pretty decent. The hotel is very clean and well kept, decor follows the boutique styling. There is a very small elevator, but we used the stairs all the time (we were in RM 307 - 4th floor). The staff was quite friendly and helped us when we needed to get to certain places as well as providing recommendations. The hotel is walking distance from Jardins du Luxembourg as well as the Luxumbourg station on the "B Line". If you're coming in from CDG, just get onto the B Line, no point in taking a cab, public transportation in Paris is very effective and easy to use (I'm a New Yorker so trust me, public transportation (or bicycle) in Paris is the BEST way to get around).

There is a convenient store directly across the street which is perfect for getting water (1L bottle for 24 cents) and other common everyday items. There is a bike share one block down (unlike London, you must have an account prior to renting the bikes) as well as a electric car share in the same location. The location of the hotel is 2 blocks from St. Michel shopping area and about 4 blocks from the start of the Latin Quarter bars/eateries. The immediate area around the hotel is quiet and peaceful all day/night long which is kind of nice. Its a quick 10 minute walk into the Latin Quarter where you will find all sorts of food offering sit-down and take-out options and where are plenty of bars. We would settle down at a bar every night to have a few drinks and people walk, this is a great location to people walk and wind down.

Back to the hotel, again very clean and well kept. The A/C is quite effective, plenty of wall outlets (Americans make sure to bring outlet adapters as the hotel will not provide any). The hotel has free WiFi which is ok, not the fastest connection but it gets the job done. There is a electronic safe (free of charge) and wall mounted flat panel TV. The bathroom surprisingly is decently sized, HOWEVER the tub/shower does not have any closures. Meaning, there is NO shower curtain, shower door of any kind. Even though they provide shower handle it is very difficult taking a shower as water will go all over the bathroom. This was my biggest issue with the room, not having a shower curtain/door made showering/bathing 3 times as longer and less enjoyable.

All-in-all, this hotel would get a 5-star rating if they simply put in shower curtains/doors, nonetheless, I would still recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I didn't see any of the other rooms but based on prior TripAdvisor reviews everyone recommended...

We spend our honeymoon there and it was great. Nice neighbourhood, calm street, clean rooms, beautiful and charming furniture, tasty breakfest, kind staff and a funny, old fashioned escalator. Perfect for couples.

This was our second stay at this beautiful hotel! Some of the staff that was there eleven years ago is still there! The hotel is impeccably decorated. The rooms are a bit small as is standard in most Paris hotels. Here, every square inch is delightfully and efficiently thought out. Walking distance to Rue St. Michel, Rue St. Germain, Odeon and St. Michel Metro stations, the Seine, Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc, etc, etc. Staff is helpful, accommodating, and available to make recommendations, (especially Alex -- Merci, Alex!) Lovely courtyard in the centre of this historical building. Unfortunately, we were asked not to enjoy our snack in the courtyard after a day of shopping and to do so in our room. So I guess the courtyard is just for chatting and smoking (ashtray on table). Breakfast in the vaulted dining room is 14 euros p.p. We opted for Boulangerie Papa on Rue Hughot just off St. Michel (12 euros for 3 breakfasts of freshly squeezed o.j., cafe au lait, and pain au chocolat/croissant).

Dear Madam, dear Sir,
We thank you for taking time in adding a comment regarding your last stay with us. We are very glad you enjoyed it. Just a little word about the snack in the courtyard. In fact, as we the property runs a bar licence, it may be controlled at any time regarding consumptions and invoices in public areas. This is why, items from the outside cannot be welcomed there. A room is considered as a private area and everyone is free to bring its own products there. As the hotel is non smoking, the opened air courtyard is the only place where smokers are alloweded to enjoy their cigarettes. We hope that will clarify your remarks. We thank you once more for your stay with us and we will be pleased in welcoming you again in the future.
Best regards

I stayed in this hotel for a few days New Years 2011 and was satisifed by its quiet and great location right next to the Luxembourg gardens. Especially for such a busy and crazy time the location was ideal and central, but was quite and peaceful at the same time.
The room was a bit small but very nice and the bathroom was quite big. The hotel itself is nicely furnished and the staff was mainly helpful and friendly (with the exception of one member).
They also recommended a couple of resteaurants right on that street which were very good.
In conclusion I would recommend this hotel.

I'm looking for that perfect friendly boutique hotel in the 6th. Unfortunately this isn't quite it. Here's what I found: the hotel is located on a quiet street, but there is some street noise from nearby traffic. Interesting very old building, with lots of low wooden beams. Very close to Luxembourg garden, which is a delightful place to wander in the long summer evenings. So, great location. The room was quite small, and very dark. However it was clean and the bedding was very clean and nice. Good blackout curtains. The lighting was really dim, so dim I had trouble even reading at night. The bathroom was quite large and very clean. It had a real shower with a door! This was a big plus. There is a cubby area to hang clothes and put your suitcase. Door locks are very old fashioned and thus quite noisy. Walls btw rooms are very thin. The AC was great and you could regulate the temperature in your own room. Hotel entryway is nice, but not a place you'd linger in. The courtyard is very small and when I was there was generally occupied by a woman smoking. I'm not sure if she was a guest or employee. The desk when you enter is odd, it's very high and the people sit behind it working away, and barely look up when you come and go. I found this not very friendly, but it was adequate.

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was the perfect home base for a culinary tour of Paris. There wasn't anything particularly remarkable about the room itself, but it was exactly what we needed. Central (but not overly-touristy-central) location, friendly staff (we don't speak any French whatsoever and they were super patient and kind) and free wifi (to lookup and confirm restaurant reservations, of course!). The price was also very reasonable given the location. It's basically on top of the Luxembourg Gardens, which we almost missed out on until the very end but thankfully it was so close that we did a quick two-hour before leaving for the airport. I'd definitely stay here again.
