Like most old hotels, the rooms vary in size, and yes, the nicest rooms are the ones on the net, and they cost more. The small, inside rooms are fine if youre just staying for a couple of days and you need a quiet place to sleep in a clean room. But no, there's no view of anything but the next building. And being an old building, the maintenence folks are busy all day. In old hotels, whether Paris, New York, or London, you never know what you're going to get for a problem. My impression is that this Hotel does their best to address them.

Taxis. This hotel is right in front of a busy taxi stand. Walk out the front door and take the cab at the front of the line. Calling a cab is unneccessary. Even during the general strike in France, there were cabs available. Carnot Street at the Arc is a major Paris hub for bus and cab, as well as an RER and metro stop.

If you get the concierge to call a cab, know that Paris taxis, like most large cities, charge from the moment they start out to pick you up, not from door to door. So, the meter is running from the time the phone gets put down, not from the time the cab shows at the hotel. That's standard, and it can make a 6 euro trip cost 20. If theis is what you want, than be prepared to pay for it.

Phone calls. I made a few short long distant calls (direct dialed), and was pleasantly surprised by the cost (total was 5 - 6 euros.)

The staff were courteous and professional.

The area is excellent.

I had no problems. if you plan to spend any time in your room other than sleeping and showering, pay more for a bigger room.

If the price of breakfast here is too steep, the cafe across the street has good food (L'Empereur), and 100 feet past that there's a McD's and Quick Burger, of youre looking for breakfast for pocket change.

Would stay again.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel tremendously; the room is clean with a good size bathroom. We booked a room on the fifth floor for the view of the arc de triomphe and oh boy, the view was nothing less than spectacular! The double French doors sealed off all the outside noise, so we slept like babies every night. We wouldn't mind staying at this hotel (in the same room) again if we ever go back to Paris.

From the minute we checked in, everything was perfect. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. Farouq is famous by now, but again, he made some great recommendations. David was nice too. The suite 606 was better and larger than expected, and the view was to die for: Eiffel from a distance, but the Arc was so close you can almost skip and jump...
The suite was beautifully furnished and sparkling clean. The only thing missing was coffee or tea, but it was not a big deal. The breakfast was delicious and included all kinds of breads and pastry, sliced meats, all kind of cheese, fruits, vegetables, cereals, eggs, sausage and more. I cannot remember all the food items, but it was all plentiful and tasty.
The Metro is a couple of steps away, and the AirFrance bus is across the street, so you have the ease of going to the CDG without any problems or anxiety. I wish we could stay there for much longer, but we had to go back home after three great days. Paris is magical but do wear comfortable shoes...

The staff was able to be spent very kindly and comfortably though stayed alone.
Moreover, because the access of sightseeing is also preeminent because it is the presence of Arch of Triumph, and the limousine bus from the airport is arriving and departing from the hotel presence, it is very convenient.

Location! Excellent location.
We stay on the 4Th floor(corner) with wonderful views to the Arc of Triumph.
We find that the the rated of this Hotel is 4 starts but fitted with 2 starts bathroom. The bath tub, very high of the ground with no wall support. When showering the water could became very cold or hot. The quality of the bath room is not a 4 star Hotel, as one expected.
Staff very friendly and willing to help every time
