Stayed at the Saint Germain in early November and found it to be in a great location, near Saint Placid metro station ( 5 min walk) . Clean modern rooms , upgraded bathrooms with the usual smallish shower stall. Helpful staff that lived in the neighborhood. Elevator in building ( not all older Paris hotels do) . Remember, for under e 150 a night in Paris, your room is not ever going to be huge. Small Lobby bar and breakfast for e15 served in the morning. Bon Marche department stores two short blocks away, along with many other upscale stores. A number of Bistros and cafe's in the area with various food choices. Thursday Market on rue Saint Germain that has wonderful food choices

Room Tip: We had 33, overlooking the street

Found this after going through so many reviews of 3-4star hotels in Paris. And we were not disappointed! We stayed for 2 nights on our maiden trip to Paris. The location is excellent and in a pretty Parisian neighborhood that is safe..about a 5 minute walk to the purple metro station. the purple line has good access to most of sights in Paris. Rooms are small which is common in Paris but it was more than adequate to sleep and shower. staff at the reception were very helpful, exemplary of service in small hotels of this type. if you're there on a sunday, catch the sunday morning market around the corner ..lovely experience of local delights.

We were a party of six adults staying in three rooms. We were all happy with our rooms. Ours was not huge but adequate for our 4 day stay as we were out most of the time. Our windows faced the street which was not overly noisy considering the location and was very quiet overnight. This is a safe, clean area. We ate locally and were delighted with the fare although there is a lovely breakfast area with basic breakfast for e15. We all bought clothes and gifts in the local street shops which were a delight. The hotel is close to the Metro which can get you anywhere in no time at all. Also a short walk will take you to Jardin de Luxembourg which is a real treat. Overall, a lovely stay which all six recommend and would return to.

We stayed 4 nights and we would definitely stay here again. Such friendly staff, clean rooms, several choices of food for breakfast and an ideal location. Local metro at each end of the road. Easy walking distance to the main attractions, d'Orsay Museum etc. Many restaurants and shops nearby. Might visit again later in the year.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quiet, but that is generally the case in most hotels.
