“Location, Accommodations and Staff are Great”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Decided on this hotel after reading reviews - was not disappointed!

I emailed with the staff prior to arrival and they ended up surprising us by putting us in Room #44, which was just recently renovated and has a great view of the Eiffel Tower! You can see the tower while laying in bed, which was magical. Agree with other reviews as to room size, however, we were comfortable and the room was very clean. Bathroom was modern, free wifi was great. Breakfast was great (if you like them on facebook you get a free breakfast) and when they ran out of fresh pasteries the staff walked to the corner bakery to pick up more!

My only complaint is the noise - walls were thin and we awoke late at night and early morning as people came into the hotel or talked in the hallways. Would stay again for the location (short walk to Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars has street market at night and tons of restaurants; right next to the Militaire metro station) and the friendly staff - but would probably ask for a quieter area of the hotel.

Room Tip: Room #44 - Great view of Eiffel Tower (can see from bed); Modern & clean bathroom; Bed was firm...

The best 3 star hotel I've stayed in. I was brought here as a birthday surprise, and what a surprise. A delightful family run hotel and their pride in the hotel shines through. Faultlessly clean, comfortable and in an excellent location. Good breakfast for 15euro, lots of choice and some cooked items too. Nothing was too much trouble and the personal service was something quite different.
Less than 10 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower makes it a great location. 2 minute walk to metro station Ecole Militaire made it easy to travel around Paris on our special rate 3 day ticket.
The whole family would definitely recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: Room 63. Nice room in the eaves with a good view of the Eiffel Tower.

Further to the reviews on tripadvisor, I decided to give this little hotel a try in my recent trip to Paris. My husband and I stayed at the hotel itself whilst my friend stayed at one of the hotel's studio flat properties across the road.

Unlike some of the staff found in many other larger chain hotels I've come across in Paris, the staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful. And nearby the hotel were many restaurants, mini supermarkets and little market places...etc. where we found award-wining bread and chocolates, cheap food like mussels, cheese, pates and more to cook and enjoy at my friend's studio flat when we were still too sleepy to head out for breakfast or just wanted a late night snack.

The rooms at the hotel were comfortable, clean and pleasant. The hotel lobby had 2 computers for guests to use but as guests were given free wifi access, I stayed in the room when I wanted to relax in the evening and go online. My friend's studio flat was great too. It had a computer for going online, kitchen, living room area with 2 pull down singles. The place was stocked with general utensils and towels and stuff and was extremely adequate for a pleasant short stay. Makes me wonder whether I should stay at the flat or at the hotel next time.

This hotel (or even the studio flat) will definately be my first choice of stay for my next trip to Paris.

We chose this hotel based first on Rick Steve's recommendation and secondly on the glowing reviews on TA. Our room had much of what has been cited in these reviews: updated and remodeled, clean, and a fabulous location of course. Perhaps if we had been in one of the rooms in the front of the hotel our experience would have been different. We were in the rear building, overlooking the "courtyard" and looking into the windows of other rooms. There are three rooms on each floor and the doors are so close and made so much noise when they opened and closed that it sounded like it was the door to our room. The room was teeny. We had stayed in a different Paris hotel at the start of our trip and that was in an older building and the room was small as we expected. This room, in I think a newer building that was added on to the original, was so small that the desk chair couldn't be pulled straight out from the desk, only at an angle.
In spite of the wee-ness of the room, I think we could have overlooked that if the staff and service was at least friendly. When we checked in I kept having to ask the front desk guy questions instead of he offering information (like how do I get on the wifi). Not once in our 4 nights there did anyone at reception acknowledge we were coming or going, as is the custom in many small Parisian and European hotels in general. Even when we dropped our key or picked it up; no hello or good evening (in any language).
And breakfast...for the first 3 mornings there was one seemingly overworked server who was too busy to ask us what beverage we'd like until we were almost finished eating what we served ourselves from the buffet. The last morning there was a different person there who disappeared after we sat down. We're still waiting to give him our order.
I really wanted to like this hotel and am disappointed that our experience didn't meet the expectations we had based on the TA reviews.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights mid February 2014. This is the type of small boutique hotel we are always looking for. The hotel is ideally located within minutes of a metro station and 10 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower. The hotel street itself is postcard-like with cafes/restaurants, patisseries, a fromage (cheese and wine) shop, groceries and fruits shops all within minutes. We stayed in room #6. We liked everything about hotel - clean, safe, great breakfast, and very helpful staff, and room amenities. Would definitely stay here again. The icining on our stay was that we met a couple from Canada and a couple of Amercia, and all three couples went out for drinks; the manager was especially pleased to assist with co-ordinating messages.

Regards - Timothy (Australia)

Great little hotel right in the middle of everything. NIce, safe, clean neighborhood with everything nearby-Rue Cler street, restaurants, grocery stores, the amazing Marie Cantin cheese shop and metro. Loved everything about hotel-clean, safe, great breakfast, helpful staff that speak English, good elevator, nice view of Eiffel Tower, a/c and heating, great TV (only a few English stations though), refrigerator, hot pot for tea/coffee. Would stay there again for sure. Missing it already and home only one day! Also, had a triple room which is difficult to find.
