Great location near the Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon. As usual in Paris, there's a Metro stop a few blocks away. I really enjoyed the British gentlemen's club atmosphere in the public areas, with a lobby full of leather sofas and chairs, walls lined with bookshelves and lots of dark wood. I found it charming, and the adjoining bar was lovely. I never made it there for a drink, but wish I had. It seemed charming and intimate but not cramped.
It's important to keep in mind that this is a European hotel and the basic rooms are small by American standards. This didn't bother me, but I have seen some negative remarks about the size. There's plenty of storage in the room, and the bathroom was clean and functional.
Breakfast is served in a nice room off to itself and is bounteous. Yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice, croissants, bread, lunch meat and cheese are among the many choices, along with brew your own hot beverages. My only complaint is that I thought I was to receive a 40% discount and was charged the full 15E. Even at that rate, the charge is more than fair given the scope of choices.More
