This hotel is awful, sixties decor, run down in need of at least a freshen up with a lick of paint. Our room was pack packer basic with stained walls, plastic beakers, damaged woodwork and no tea or coffee facillities. It was at the rear facing a block wall, ventilation ducts and knee deep in pidgeon dirt on the ground,The desk staff were friendly and helpful though and the location was convienient to the sight seeing tour bus stops . From a safety point of view, there are no smoke or heat detectors which is rather worrying, would I ever go back ?? definatley not.

This Hotel is in a great location, just five minutes gentle stroll to the Louvre Museum. My wife and I found it clean and the staff very welcoming. The en-suite rooms were compact but quite adequate apart from a kettle and cups. A continental breakfast is served in a small, very clean, cellar and I would hate to think how they would cope if every guest turned up at once. As it is, breakfast is served between 7am and 10am so there is no hurry. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit in our room was not working but there was a fan which basically blows warm air around. We were at the front of the building which was noisy with cars driving past and bin men starting at 6am each day.

Such a shame - really can't beat the location (on Rue Moliere just off the Avenue del'opera about 5 mins stroll from the Place de Louvre) and the building on the outside looks lovely. Sadly pretty much everything on the inside was between poor to mediocre.

Good points: the location, absolutely fab, the beds were firm and the showers worked well

Bad points: decor throughout looked tired, rooms are quite small, breakfast was nothing to write home about and the staff were disinterested and in one case incapable of working out that 2xEuro 2.40 = Euro 4.80.

Hotel is ok if you are literally just in Paris for a flying visit and want a cheap hotel with a good location. however this is the classic case of you get what you pay for. Sad with a little work it could be soooo much better - ie freshen up the decor, and give the staff a bit of a kick

Need I say more?
The photos online looked nice but when I arrived the room was cramped and dirty. Oh well, at least it was a bed to sleep in and the location was great, right? However, in the morning I awoke with DOZENS of bed bug bites. Totally disgusting. I know it's tough to find affordable accommodation in Paris, but I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

We arrived at the Hotel, only to be told by the two staff members at the front desk, that had a "petit souci" with our (fully advanced paid) reservation for a three night stay: The room would not be available for the stay.

Nobody had bothered to inform the guests in advance (phone number was on the reservation) or to email us.

But also, nobody had bothered to find an alternative in advance (search started while we were there, see below).

Additionally, no-one really opologized for the inconvenience, the fact that the resvervation would not be respected or even at least for not informing us in advance. We were told, these things happen - we'd be put up in a different place.

One of two staff members told us the reason allegedly were regular maintanance works taking longer due to a public holiday (on that day). The other staff member gave a broken water pipe as a reason . Whatever the true reason(s) really were, the contradicting stories did not help. Also, nobody had a reason why we had not been informed in advance and why no measures were taken to find a suitable alternative for us in advance.

After some phone calls, the staff offered to place us in a Hotel of their group about 10 minutes away by taxi - in a mediocre location and way out of the area we had selected (location really is the only thing to commend the Pavillion Louvre Rivoli). After refusing this option, we were instead trasfered to a different hotel of the same group, very close, in a good location too, but the room in a truly deplorable, run down state. Also, we had to leave that room again the next day, as it was fully booked.

The entire inconvenience and the flat out incompetend management lead us to finding a place on our own, in the same price range, close by and well run.

The only thing that went OK is that the director of the Pavillion Louvre Rivoli apologised (finally!) when we were there the second day to move again, but then, it seems odd you'd have to mention the apologies as the positive thing in that particular situation.... It only underlines how poorly run and unreliable the place actually is.

To sum it up: Only for really advanturous guests - but not really even then: Take your chance at another place, at least you might get a chance to be disappointed by a bad room, instead of not getting a room at all...

The walls were dirty and the rooms smelled. My first room the refrigerator did not work in and my second room the TV did not work. The wifi worked but was censored. The included breakfast was not much of anything.
The location was nice, but it lacked so much.

Good points: excellent location, helpful staff, good value for breakfast, plentiful hot water, quiet street, on other side of Avenue de l'Opera, so away from posh shops, a little more residential.

Bad points: needs attention to repairs, switchboard was out for entire five days, toilet paper unavailable for 2 days, shampoo unavailable for 5 days, bed was worn,
Hotel is apparently always fully booked, so understandably, they don't want to touch up its slightly shabby appearance. However, the hotel belongs to a group of 24 hotels, so cannot understand why no sharing of supplies. Staff was adequate to run hotel, but no sight of management. Suggest you do like the Japanese, smile and be polite and send an e-mail complaining to your travel agent!!
