Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, room on the small side but very comfortable. Five minutes walking distance to the Louvre, good area for reasonable priced restaurants. Very quiet at night no traffic noise. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for 2 nights in late June. Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and despite the central/bustling location it was quiet. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. Just wished we had more time there.

Room Tip: We were in a front room, facing the street, but noise was no problem.

Last minute booking for a superior room turned out to be a very nice room that had been refurbished apart from the carpet. Room was at the back and faced the Palais Royale. Very good location for the sights and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were friendly enough but too tight to let us stay for free for a late departure. 'They need the room ' - ho, ho.

We were surprised when the lady at the reception told us that we have to pay for 15 bottles of water for €5 each. There was no sign at the breakfast room and the server did not inform us about it. The bottles were not even regular size water bottles. I argued with the lady and she was nice enough to just charged us for three but I still would like other guests to know about this so they don't get surprised when they get their bill. Or try to avoid asking for water because there is a nearby mini market where you can get big bottles of water for €1.50 each.
Although the lady was nice enough to give us a break about this, I was still a bit disappointed because of what I had paid for the two rooms that we had for 4 nights I was expecting a better service. The hotel was very clean and close to The Louvre but there is still a 5 minute walk. I think we could have found a better place for what I paid for this hotel.

I was dreading staying here after reading other reviews on this hotel post booking it. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The building is beautiful, it's a smaller boutique hotel. We found the room and the bathroom to be a good size and decorated to a high standard. It was spotless and cleaned with new towels, bathroom products every day. The staff were very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The location is brilliant, you can walk to all the main sights. Thanks to another review we went in search of the palace garden behind the hotel which was beautiful. We stayed here four nights and will stay here again. The only thing I can't comment on is the breakfast as we chose to have breakfast in local cafes which was half the price and much more fun people watching over coffee and a croissant.

I had asked the travel agent to book a 4 star centrally located hotel in Paris. This one is located close to the Louvre and the Tuileries gardens and is close to a metro station and taxis. Although not located on a major road, there were, nonetheless, at least six different eateries in the street and prices/food were generally fine.
It is described as a 'boutique' hotel, being the former home of Mme de Pompadour. Staff were generally friendly (if not effusive) and reasonably helpful.
However the standard of the facilities was more like 2 stars. The room, described by the receptionist as a 'luxury' room, had darkish wallpaper and the lighting was woeful (good lights in the bathroom only). It was in serious need of a refurb, particularly the carpet, which had worn down to the underlay in front of the bathroom door, which the chambermaid simply covered with a white bathmat each day. The furniture was tired looking and there were small things missing, such as a waste paper basket.
On the second day there was no hot water (it was fixed by the next day) and several days later, the only lift broke down in the evening (fixed by the next morning). Luckily we were on the first floor. Had to negotiate a narrow spiral staircase up to the room,
The continental breakfast was not buffet. The same food was served to the table each day. There was no choice except whether to have tea or coffee. The breakfast tables are too small to easily fit all the crockery etc
There was free WiFi, but the signal in the room was woeful and it would disconnect regularly.
I would describe our stay there as no better than barely'adequate and I would not choose to stay there again.

Room Tip: The room we had was at the rear of the hotel and was reasonably quiet, except when those attending t...

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in Paris. We specifically booked a twin superior room, and were given a regular double until we objected. There was no hot water AT ALL to shower in the morning, and when we reported it to the receptionist she just shrugged. No apologies, no (partial) refund, and she even made a song and dance about us not having the right change for the room tax.

Avoid. There are better hostels than this in Paris.
