Our air con did not work in the room and in the August heat, it was almost unbearable. We are from Australia, so are used to the heat, but with no air con or fans in the height of summer, it was unpleasant. Room size and cleanliness was fine, but the lift also broke for 2 days during our stay, so we had to use the stairs (in the heat, with our bags!). The breakfast was expensive, so we didn't have it. Having said this, location was good, near the metro and in winter it might be lovely!

We booked last minute and were on a budget. We got the superior double (same sized bed as a double but bigger room for just under £70 per night ( without breakfast). The room , toilet and bathroom were clean. Shower good. It was a pleasant but we were only there for sleeping so cant comment on Breakfast etc. The hotel is in position A for the Latin quarter and la mouffetard with its numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. My only minor gripe is that free wifi is intermittent in strength but that's really about it.

Very good value overall.

Great location, breakfast included and good. Do not book in the summer, even though they say there is AC, it does not work. The front desk guy that I complained to the first day said " it works a little". No it does not work. I called my travel agent, she called and a nice guy at the desk ( Joseph) had me look at other rooms, all still hot. So I sit here and it is 90F in my room, never again hotel Cardinal

Our room was a bit on the small side, but that didn't really matter as we were out all day every day, and the bathroom would would benefit from a towel rail. That would be a good addition. We didn't try the breakfast, preferring to patronise Le Saint Médard cafe nearby, which is very French. The hotel's also close to rue Mouffetard, which is full of fascinating boutiques and lively restaurants. With the metro nearby – and the Gare d'Austerlitz not too far away – the public transport system seemed to be on our doorstep, which was very handy. Would we stay there again? Maybe. But not in July, or when it's so hot!

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors might be lighter.

Seems like a nice place and would no doubt be perfect if it weren't for our air conditioner not working. Given the temperature is currently in the mid 30s it is quite unbearable.

The friendly staff have furnished me with a fan however I feel like I'm not exactly receiving the full complement of what I've paid for.

This small hotel was so convenient and met all our expectations. A short walk from the Metro line which got us all over Paris very quickly and easily. One benefit of staying here is the closeness to so many cafes, restaurants and food shops. Each day we explored further in the local area and we were always so pleasantly surprised with the range of eating places available for us to relax and watch the world go by. Perfect holiday. The hotel staff were helpful in all respects including giving advice and helping us with our attempts at french. This was our second time in Paris, first time at this hotel and we will return if we are lucky enough to get back to this beautiful city and its people.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The location is centralized and close to many cafes and restaurants. The best experience was the front desk help of Ramon palacios. He was so helpful to guide us and make recommendations. One magnificent person. We will gladly stay here again.
