Can't complain about anything during our recent 5 day stay. Location, access to metro system, all staff members so friendly, but the 2 local calls for almost 20 euros, well that is an issue which hotel management must change. (unexpected charge during check-out, yikes!!)Young lady at reception desk explained that it was to do with the phone company. But a stay at another hotel earlier on our vacation, local calls were charged at .80 centimes.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying at the Meliá Colbert Hotel!

It is nice to read that you had a nice stay amongst us and that you liked the location, and the staff. However, I am concerned about your comment with reference to the phone calls since all the prices (minibar, room service, phone calls…) are available in all our rooms and unfortunately this is an automatic charge that I cannot modify.
We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back

Yours sincerely,

Alejandra Wharmby

Situated in a nice lane across from Notre dame. Welcomed with a glass of champagne, this set scene for wonderful 3 days in Paris (assisted by excellent weather). Didn't take breakfast Too expensive at25 euros each!

Dear Guest,

It is a true delight to read your nice review about your stay at the Meliá Colbert Hotel.
You were very lucky for the good weather because it was not the same for every days of September.
We will be very happy to welcome you back in a not too distant future to make you enjoy Paris once again.

400€ per night for a small room! So price quality is questionable. But Very nice staff, and very nice neighborhood. Nice decorated and French atmosphere but again high priced!! That's Paris!! We had the feeling we paid for a superior room but were put into a standard or deluxe room! Didn't bother to complain............... .....................................

Dear Guest,

We thank you for staying at the Meliá Colbert Hotel during your stay in Paris.
As you may know Paris is one of the most expensive city of Europe, but it actually worth it. Waking up in front of Notre Dame Cathedral or walking along the Seine after a really nice diner cruise in the “City of Lights”, this is priceless.

The differences between our standard and premium rooms are the tea and coffee facilities, bathrobe and flippers.
We really look forward to the pleasure of hosting you once again in order to meet all your expectation about the perfect stay in Paris.

Best regards,

I had looked forward to returning to the Colbert after a wonderful stay several years ago, but am sorry to say that the quality of the hotel has declined under the Melia management. The cost of the rooms has increased significantly, but the service, cleanliness, maintenance, and overall quality are now worse. The location is great, but there are other hotels nearby with much lower prices where I will stay on the next visit to Paris. The breakfast was very complete as well as expensive and, at times, crowded, which was not worthwhile with less expensive and more attractive alternatives at every turn in the area. After a long trip the welcome drink was appreciated; however, it would have been really helpful if the ladies' room in the lobby had a light in it so that it could be used upon arrival rather than waiting a hour or more for the bulb to be changed after multiple requests. I still love Paris, but this visit was not enhanced by the hotel stay.

Room Tip: Be aware that the standard rooms have no drawers or shelves for clothing.

Dear Guest,

As I already explained on my first reply to your friend, it has been around eight years that the Hotel became part of Meliá Company. The Quality of the Hotel has been actually improved by the company by organizing some renovations in order to deserve the 4 stars we actually have and which have been confirmed last year.

Then, it is true that in September, as it is the highest season in Paris, the price of the rooms are not the same as July or August for example. Moreover, it is important to know that this is very valuable to stay in a Hotel few steps away from Notre Dame Cathedral and from a lot of very nice and famous places in Paris.

We hope we could welcome you back in Paris!

I just returned from a ten day stay at the Melia Colbert. From the first to the last, my friend and I were very disappointed. It took four hours after the 2:00 pm cited check-in time for us to see our room. It was very tiny despite our request for a standard two-person room. For that, we were charged extra. The "upgrade" room was still very small and thread worn. Paint and plastering was needed on the walls, ceiling, floor boards. Even the tub was marked by a huge black chip. During three days, we had to request toilet paper. For a light bulb, we waited another three days. We had a front view that focused on office workers. The staff was not that knowledgeable about the beautiful sites of Paris. My friend and I were here under the old management; it was much better -- that is why we returned. Melia is not doing justice to this hotel with its past niceness. I will NEVER return to this hotel.

Room Tip: For the money and location, there are many more hotels with knowledgeable staff, cleanliness, good s...

From the moment we arrived we loved this hotel. The first thing you see is the pretty exterior with the inviting front entrance. The hotel staff are courteous, approachable and very tolerant of my terrible french! The staff worked hard to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Our room was everything we had hoped for, bed comfortable, view in the courtyard was just lovely, all the rooms had flowered window boxes which adds to the charm. The location is excellent, Latin quarter close to notre dame, st Germain, great shopping, walking distance to almost everything. Restaurants in the area were many and varied in price and cuisine. The breakfast buffet was the best we encountered in Europe with yogurt to die for! We would stay there again and again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a courtyard view but take ear plugs as it can be noisy. Don't let that put y...
