“Overpriced, terrible hotel!”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Room was VERY small---I had to close my suitcase to open the door. It is under renovation as well so the elevator and floors are covered in plaster dust. Breakfast for 13 euros and was terrible-runny scrambled eggs and un-identifiable sliced meat. People working at Reception are very unfriendly and not helpful either---one man couldn't get off his phone to check me out. The good things---bathroom and linens were clean and A/C works. Also the Wifi connection is very weak and is very difficult to do even a couple of e-mails. All of this for a very high price! I do not recommend at all!

I stayed two nights. The first night was in a 'superior room' on an upper floor but at the front of the hotel on the street side - and I do so hate traffic noise, admitedlly only of mopeds as it is not a main throughfare. I was given opportunity for another room at the back which I much preferred - even though that was a 'standard room'. I did not object when charged on departure for a superior room, but I did draw it to their attention

But good location for the hotel especially as the area that is developing and becoming fashionable.

Had one breakfast, which was OK. Wi-fi was good, staff pleasant. Felt good.

Price/value/re-furbishment. Let's first say that Paris hotels are expensive for the room size, and there is a lot of rennovation / building work going on - which is why there is a carpet in the lift and the garden at the back is not being used. The workmen were polite but of course they started work in the morning and during the day.

Perhaps the hotel should be giving a discount - I know I would think better of it had they done so - not just generally for the building work which does devalue the stay but also because my move to the 'standard room' freed up a 'superior room'. This prompts me to look elsewhere when I return to Paris.

Room Tip: I peferred a room at the back

Although the rooms had been refurbished (but very small) the reception/hall/elevator was a dirty construction site. After arriving from a 16 hour trip in the morning, there was no water for a shower until the evening with non-stop very loud construction banging from 9am-4pm on weekdays. Although the staff were friendly, it wasn't enough .

We've stayed at the Paris twice during our trip: first time before we've left to the Normandy/Brittany seashore and second time for the last night before we've left home.

For the first few nights we've booked some Ibis hotel and wanted to make last night in Paris something really special, when booked this hotel. What a terrible mistake that was.

Regular price for our room was 250 euros (we've paid 137 as a discounted price) -- well, i can say that even considering good location (it's rather close to Montmartre) this room is not worth more than 80 euros. The furniture was old and worn, the room itself was a little more roomy than in those Japanese capsule hotels, and there was renovation going on with the noise in the morning and workers going here and there in the lobby. The elevator had something spilled on the floor, which was covered with some mats all the time.

This is basically place to have the shower and sleep. For that value you can get much more interesting offers.

Bottomline: good location is the only benefit of this hotel. There are more interesting deals on the market to be chased.

We just spent a week in this hotel, and it was very nice. Our room was a little small, but that is typical of Paris rooms in these older hotels. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a wonderful little courtyard and charming exterior. They were renovating while we were there, so we are anxious to go back and try the rooms on the upper floors that have been completed. (We didn't have any problems with construction noise, although we were out of our room most of every day.) The staff members are very nice and helpful, and the breakfast is quite good (although perhaps a bit overpriced). Not just a continental breakfast, but scrambled eggs, crepes, toast, croissants and pastries, as well as fresh fruit. The metro is only 2 blocks away, which is very convenient for traveling anywhere in the city. A block away is the rue de Martyrs, which has wonderful food shops - cheese, meat, fruits/vegetables, bread/pastries, wine, etc. Within just a block or two, you can purchase everything you need for a great lunch or dinner. There are several nice restaurants nearby as well. Great place, we will be back!

Room Tip: Due to the current renovation, I would ask for a room on a higher floor (there are 6 floors). Also a...

This hotel is well situated in Montmartre, close to the St George's Metro but also close to Pigalle on another line. There were lots of restaurants around so the choice was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were actually pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, expecting smaller. The bathroom was clean and everything worked well. Breakfast was excellent value and the crêpes were very good. We are heading back to Paris and are sorry it is fully booked.

This was the perfect little hotel for us when visiting Paris for the first time. It's clean, staff are helpful and they have all the basics to make your stay comfortable. It's good value for money and while its is a for way from the centre of town, the metro is a quick walk away, St Georges Station. What it is close to is Montmatre and Basilique du Sacre-Coeur which is a lovely early morning walk to get the look pumping. There are great restaurants and cafés nearby, a wonderful hair salon and laundry, the area really has everything you need. The rooms are modern, not big and romantic, but the romance is all around you in the city. Best of all they had a cat in the common area which was lovely to come home to at the end of the day and was happy for a cuddle. Really happy with this hotel. Would stay at the same place again when going back.
