“Fantastic location / Beautiful room”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stayed at the Hotel Powers in Oct. ' 12 . Location is wonderful. Champs d' Elysees is only a block away. Cartier, and Hermes a couple doors down, and every other designer shop, and the Plaza Athenee, and George V, are just around the corner - probably one of the best residential/shopping neighborhoods in Paris. The room was elegant, and I'd wake, and go to sleep, to a view of the Eiffel Tower, through the open windows. The staff was courteous, and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Will be back !

Room Tip: Choose top floor for best view

I stayed here for two nights in October 2012 and paid about $510 per night, including taxes, breakfast, and wi-fi internet. This hotel is one of the most conveniently located in Paris, just a few steps off the Champs d'Elysees, and, if one does not have heavy luggage, very walkable even from the Air France bus drop-off at the Arc d'Triomphe. It's a charming older hotel with small rooms that could use a bit of renovation, as the rooms seem heavy and creaky with multiple coats of paint. The strange thing about the bathroom in my room was that it seemed to be an "add-on," a compartment behind a wall that cut down on the size of the room even more. The check-in staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I wouldn't say it was a very good value for Paris overall, but in this central location it's probably the best one could find at less than an astronomical rate.

Perfect location. Perfect room. Perfect breakfast. Perfect staff. There's not much more to say. How anyone can rate this hotel less than 5 is beyond me. Even the lounge, though small, was perfect. Our room faced the street with large French doors - very quiet. Cannot say enough good things about the hotel and the staff. If only the weather had cooperated - out of 8 days, we had 7 days of rain. But you're in Paris and nothing can stop you from seeing the sights. And make sure you make use of their recommended restaurants. Reasonable and excellent food. Can't wait to return there.

Room Tip: Seems like any room would be fine.

The Powers is two blocks off the Champs Elysees, but that doesn't make it comparable to some of its classy neighbors. We were supposed to have had a deluxe room, but the only thing deluxe about it was the price. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny. Worse yet, the shower had an oddly shaped floor that made it quite slippery and downright unsafe. The walls were thin and un-soundproofed.

On the plus side, the staff was friendly, the hotel was immaculately clean, and the breakfast was more than acceptable.

We stayed in the Hotel Powers for 3 days in September - the staff were all very helpful.
The room had plenty of character and was a good size. The breakfast was very good with both a hot and cold buffet - the coffee was excellent. The location of the hotel was great just 2 minutes walk to the Champs Elysee - there were also lots of resturaunts nearby. It was our first visit to Paris and would stay here again if we were to return.

Room Tip: We chose a deluxe room which was an excellent size - we were on the street side but had no issues w...

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2012

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Powers for 6 nights and found it cozy. Since this was our first time in Paris I have nothing to compare it to. The hotel was small and had the real old European feel to it. The reception staff was pleasant but not always knowledgeable. I asked about Sunday shopping and they told me that nothing was open. As it turned out the stores on the Champs-Elysees were all open but there were some in other areas that were not. I would think that this is a pretty common question that people ask so that they should maybe be better informed. The location is great if you want to be near the Champs-Elysees as it is right down the street. There were a couple of problems with this hotel, one being it is hard to get really warm water. You have to let the tap run for ages. Also our bathtub plug did not go down all the way so it didn't keep the water in the tub. We stayed for 5 nights and than came back for 1 last night on our last day of vacation. They were kind enough to store some luggage for us while we headed to our next destination. When we came back to check in on the last night they did not find a record of our booking but told us not to worry as they still had rooms available. Luckily I had all of the paperwork. They actually upgraded my husband and I. They told us they would send up the stored luggage for us but when we returned to the room after dinner it was not there. When I called down to the reception area the gentleman asked if I could come down and take a look and tell us which bags were ours. He opened the storage closet for us and had my husband search through it himself and pull all all of the luggage out. All of the luggage was tagged with our names on it so he could of easily taken the time to do that himself which I found most other hotels would of done. Overall it was a cute hotel but I think I would try somewhere else next time. It was not cheap and I think you could get more bang for your buck somewhere else.
