“Really nice hotel”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Hotel is located in a nice spot. There are many restaurants, also fast food, available in the area. It's easy to access Champs Elysees. We took hop-on hop-off bus there.

Hotel organised really well all the transfers we needed. We were travelling with kids and that was one important thing for us.

Hotel was very clean, quiet and cosy. I would say this is an "Easy to Stay at" hotel. Breakfast area was small. We ordered the breakfast to our room for two early mornings and there was no problem to arrange it. Staff was really friendly. Free wifi worked well.

Communication with the reception worked well, also before the stay. It's was easy to contact the hotel via e-mail. We got answers to every single question. When we wanted to have some small changes to our schedules it was dealt right away. Excellent service.

Only "downside" was that right when we arrived with our bags and prams the elevator broke, but that's not hotel's fault. Well, it didn't take too long as the elevator worked again...They carried our bags to the fifth floor. Nothing to complain.

We stayed 3 nights in a Junior Suite and it was exactly the right choice for our family.

As it was Easter hotel left a small chocolate surprise to the room. Nice.

Hope we can stay again in this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed 3 nights in a Junior Suite and it was exactly the right choice for our family when we want...

Stayed here for 3 nights in early March. Room was very tiny, tighter than on a cruise ship, no kidding. Couldn't open the suitcase without putting it on the bed every time. Bed was comfortable, hotel was reasonably quiet.Breakfast was only cold cereals, breads, cheeses, cold cuts. But it was tasty and enough to start your morning off. Great location near the Arc de Triomphe and the metro station.

Very friendly people, well filled minibar ;D
And fast and free wifi. They reckomended a very good restaurant which was exactly my style, I got the feeling they are well informed about what paris has to offer
Good breakfast, (good croissants), but in a slightly compressed area, it feeled a bit squeezed.

Just got back from a trip to Paris, where we stayed 2 nights at the Royal Magda. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel. It was in a cute and safe location, right off the Champs-Elysses on a little side street. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Numerous subway stops also within walking distance. 2 min walk to the Arc de Triumph. Nice Monoprix grocery store within walking distance, where we went to stock up on wine and snacks.

Good price also. Hotel staff was very nice and spoke perfect English. They were very helpful in giving us directions, recommendations, etc. Here’s something to keep in mind- this hotel is small by American standards, but in line with European hotels. Room was small, with just enough room for a full bed. We previously have stayed at the Marriott Champs-Elysses down the street, and I’d guess that our room at Magda was at least half as small as the one at the Marriott. Bathroom was very small. However, my husband and I had no issue with the room; it was fine for 2 people. Rooms did have windows that opened, with a cute little balcony. The hotel overall is small (lobby, elevator, etc), so if you’re looking for a mass-chain large hotel, this is not it. But if you’re looking for a more “authentic” Parisian experience, this is a great hotel. I’ll recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: we got a room overlooking the street, and had no issues with noise.

The first thing that greeted us when opening the door to room 311 was the distinct smell of foot odour, indicating a carpet that hadn’t been steam cleaned in quite a while. There were two spacious rooms, both having flatscreen TVs. The bathroom was quite nice and had a window to the inner yard but the standard of the rooms felt average, with knobs to the cupboards missing, lampshades hanging slightly sideways and so on. I was quite surprised at the lack of attention to detail given the high ratings on Tripadvisor.
The beds were very comfortable and provided nice sleep despite the thunder of children’s feet rumbling above us. Earplugs are recommended in this location.
Since we only spent two nights and didn’t feel we had time to move to another room, we decided not to complain about the smell in the room. The hallway smelled much nicer.
The front desk staff is this hotel’s main asset. They were very friendly and courteous and would have probably given us another room if we’d asked.
The breakfast was unimpressive, small croissants or plain bread, thick chunks of cheese in plastic wrapping, ham, yogurt, jam, cornflakes, one selection of juice, coffee and tea. Nothing to write home about out.
The location might be the main purpose of selecting this hotel, but the surroundings, apart from the Arc de Triomphe, did not feel very inspiring. We visited a pretty nice place called Maison Lacombe, further down Avenue Mac-Mahon which was a good hang-out, but overall this is not the area you would either go shopping or sit down and drink coffee.

Paris in February was cold - snow, below freezing temperatures and windy but the Royal Magna was a warm retreat. Location is great - just a couple of blocks from the dropoff point for LeCar which provides easy and relatively inexpensive transportation from the airport. Just a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe and easy connection to metro, and lots of restuarants nearby. We also enjoy going to an outdoor market that is only about a 10 minute walk away. Hotel was clean, quiet, breakfast was adequate.
Staff was very attentive to our needs - even to the printing out of our boarding passes.
We had to leave the hotel by 7:30 in order to catch the LeCar bus to the airport so the staff had the breakfast buffet ready 1/2 hour early so we could have breakfast before we left.

Free internet service worked well for us and was dependable.

Room Tip: We had an upgraded room - this gave us a French balcony and a tub. Nice extras.

A secret hide away on a quiet street. This lovely hotel is just blocks away from the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Élysées, a metro station and people watching bistros. We had a nice sized triple with a double bed and a double sofa bed. The Internet was free and reliable. Breakfast offers a little something for everyone. On a return trip to Paris, I would definitely stay here again. Staff was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable .goldenlady 27.

Room Tip: 316 is on the back and looks over the courtyard
