We have enjoyed four longish stays at the Royal Magda Hotel, as a couple and with various adult family members. The hotel has what we want the most: quiet, cleanliness, friendly assistance. The mattresses are firm and the sheets are crisply clean every day. I think the hotel has gotten very busy, but it does not seem that way and we never had to wait for assistance or at breakfast. We never felt rushed either. A "Do Not Disturb" sign is not necessary. The housekeepers are almost invisible, (no taps on the door) but the room gets cleaned no matter how late you leave or how early you return. On our recent visit, it was hot in Paris, and our room was comfortably cool thanks to the AC.

The location is convenient, but this is not a tourist area. You are close to the Metro and the museum cluster along the Seine is a direct trip on line 1. With a little exploring, we have found a variety of nice places to eat, a laundromat and a superb market area all within five minutes walk.
The place has charm. We love the spiral staircase with the leopard skin pattern on the rugs. It is basically a small hotel with a nice mix of clientele. It has no gym and no computer stations, but there is a little iPad in the lobby. The WiFi works. There are ways to get your boarding passes printed with help from the desk. You cannot go into the garden which is a bummer.
The rooms are small with small closets, but we do not feel cramped. In our favorite room, the bed is up against the wall on two sides. Reading lights are adequate and there are enough plugs to charge the cell and laptops without unplugging the lights, etc.
The boiler blew at the end of our trip last year. Obviously fixed now, and the hot water is hot. Our shower leaked a bit. That was not a problem for us since the puddle stayed in the corner. Hope they fix it, though.
Little kids will have no diversions.
The hotel works because the staff are dedicated. Change that, or get too many rowdy guests, and there would be problems due to the size and intimacy of the place.
In summary, we can relax and rest at this hotel. It is terrific for people who want to recharge every night so they can enjoy the city. Not for those who need a big hotel experience.

The location of the Hotel makes it very accessible to many places nearby and there are supermarket and cafe around. This makes eating out convenient, The hotel staffs are always smiling and willing to assist. Superb location. Great breakfast. Contemporary style . Definetively a great choice.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. Yes, the room is tiny... the smallest room I think I've ever seen! But the service and location make up for it... and really, we weren't in the room all that much because we were in Paris! The people at the front desk were so helpful and friendly. They not only recommended two terrific places to eat dinner, but also printed a map and drew how to get there. They helped us figure out how to get to Versailles (not that it's hard... we just didn't know how to get there) and were genuinely friendly.

The location is superb! Even though the Arc de Triomphe is very close by, as well as a metro stop and many restaurants and pastry shops, the hotel is tucked into a quiet street so you don't hear any outside noise. A downside to the hotel though, is the walls are very thin. We could hear whole conversations in the room next to us on the last night. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris.

My wife and I were in Paris for 3 days and stayed at the Royal Magda. The service we received from arrival to departure was exemplary. Staff at reception were always happy to provide assistance to our many questions. The location is great, 50m from the Metro and a further 50m to the Arc de Triomphe. There are lots of good restaurants (formal and informal) within an easy walk of the hotel.

Paris hotels are notoriously small. This one is no exception. By American standards, the room is a closet. That being said, we found it beautiful, clean, close, and local in its feel. We stayed 2 nights. The front desk was incredibly helpful. We took the metro from the airport and found the hotel without any trouble. We walked everywhere after that. We enjoyed the 5 minute walk to the Arc, the 4 mile walk to the Louvre and about the same to the Musee d'Orsay. Restaurants are all a little touristy in this area, but that's the price you pay for proximity. The walking is beautiful. Internet connection was wifi and reasonably fast. We did not buy the breakfast in the hotel, preferring a croissant or crepe on the street. If you need your chain hotel, go for it, but this place is Paris through and through. I stayed at the airport Marriott last time on a layover and paid 50% more than Magda. This place is at the top of its game right now.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. It has a great location near the Arc de Triomphe and is not far from the Air France bus' drop off point. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Paris hotel rooms tend to be small so I paid a little extra for a "Club Double" room and appreciated the extra space it offered. The front desk staff were unfailingly helpful. The hotel's breakfast was better than average. I have stayed at four other hotels near the Arc de Triomphe, on past trips, and I think Royal Magda Etoile offers the best value of them all.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a "Club Double" and get a better-sized room.
