“Big, high but comfortable”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Located in Montparnasse just next to the railway station and Metro this is a hotel that caters to tourists who like good access to all the city, as well as to business people who need big conference rooms and office services.
It's very big place with over 950 rooms and a fitness room, but rooms have adequate space and large 42" TV's. Bathrooms are good but the shower temperature was not even.
Breakfast is a messy affair with hundreds of people walking around trying to get the food and drinks from several buffets. Try to stay in the smaller room at the left to get some quiet. The choice of foods is correct and there's even a large Nespresso machine. The orange juice is the real stuff.
Very near the hotel you can find several little streets with restaurants, bars and theatres which avoids the trouble of taking transports to get out at night.
All in all it's a good choice to visit Paris and the outskirts for the right price.

Room Tip: Choose the highest possible floor with a view to Montparnasse cemetery

A businees hotel for family vacation? Yes indeed, we were positively surprised and would recommend the Pullmann Montparnasse for families. We were there over easter and the location is really good and our kids liked the hotel as well. We had a family room with two double-beds, modern, stylish with Nespresso coffee machine, but would have preferred a shower rather a bath tub/shower combination. The breakfast was also quite generously. So good value for money in world city like Paris.

If you're seeking the iconic Paris hotel romanticized by the movies of the 1950s, this probably isn't the place. Truth be told, but for the French accents of the desk staff, baggage handlers and concierge, this facility could be located in Dallas, Texas. That said, if you're looking for a modern high rise hotel with decent beds, clean rooms, an exercise area and the like and so long as you don't mind an abundance of business travelers and conventioneers from the attached center, this spot is probably as good as most. On the downside, Montparnasse is a little outside the traditional tourist area (although only by a Metro stop or two) so you may have to travel to dine, shop and see the sights. That's not a huge problem since the Gare de Montparnasse is across the street which, I suppose, presents it's own issues.

I have stayed with my wife and 2 kids (12 and 8) at Pullman Montparnasse for 7 nights in early April 2013. It was a very good choice especially when I compare it to my previous hotel in Paris in 2009 trip.
1- We were upgraded to 2 connected rooms with separate bathrooms and 2 TV's.
2- Beds are very comfortable so we were able to rest well after long walks in Paris.
3- Showers water pressure is excellent for Paris hotels and shower products are excellent.
4- No noise to disturb sleep.
5- No problem with elevators whatsoever ( I was worried about that after reading some previous reviews.
6- Breakfast is 25 euros for adults and free for children: It is of good quality and diverse options but is expensive. We took it once.
7- Staff are very helpful and they speak good english: They provided a converter for electrical outlet for free and got us a taxi for airport at the door at 5:30 am.
8- Pizza Roma which is 100 feet away is very good; try their 4 cheese pizza for adults and margherita for kids. There are multiple restaurants and bars in the street behind pizza roma.
9- There are 2 supermarkets less than 100 feet away where you can buy everything including spring water, bread , cheese, fruits, juice and multiple sandwiches.
10- You can get good quality croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast from nearby bakeries.
11- Gaite metro station is less than 200 feet away and from there you can take line 13 that has stops in Invalides and Champs-elysees and that connect you to all your destinations in Paris with one connection: Make sure you have one of the 2 applications (Paris Metro) on your I phone or other device.
12- Overall this is a very good and sensible choice for american families as this hotel will not feel different than a typical good american hotel as compared to Paris "boutique" hotels where the rooms are quite tight and water pressure is low. It will require that you take the metro though to reach most attractions but using the metro is easy and you get to see the french people and not the tourists: Just be carefull of the pick-pocketers!

Stayed with my hubby and teenage daughter. Large hotel, polite and helpful staff. Clean rooms with efficient daily service. This is not the sort of place to stay though if you want friendly recognition with social interaction. Because of the conference facilities this hotel has a very corporate feel, however this can be an advantage if you want to switch off and be anonymous. If you have mobile obsessive kids they can occupy themselves for hours using the free Wifi facilities, there is no charge but you do have to log in each day. The hotel is near to the train station, metro and shops are just a short walk near to the Paris sky scraper. Didnt bother with 25 Euro breakfast but visited local patisseries for a local continental experience. Would be more than happy to stay here again.

We stayed at Pullman Paris Montparnasse in September and really enjoyed it. We had a high room with a great view of the city, if not the Eiffel Tower. It was part of a trip booked through Costco and was a really nice deal. The room was clean and bright, and plenty roomy for two. The area was nice, with restaurants and grocery stories within easy walking distance. Finding the hop-on, hop-off tourist bus stop was our biggest challenge, but once we figured that out, we were set. It was easy to walk to the Seine and in less than a day, we visited Notre Dame, Louvre, Les Invalides, and a really nice stroll down the outdoor mall with stops at Petite and Grand Palais. The weather was great, which helped, but the hotel staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was OK, but the nearby restaurants, particularly La Paradise, were real treats. We travel on a budget so we appreciate food that is not only reasonable, but tasty. Be sure to visit the tower next to the hotel, especially at night. Yes, it is a monstrosity that does not belong in a beautiful city, but when you are on it, it will not show up in your photos! The view of the Eiffel Tower and rest of the city at night (arrive at dusk to watch the transition. It was surprisingly not busy at all) was breath taking. If you head out into Paris on foot and get lost, just look up. That tower will be a beacon to guide you back. Great stay. While it lacked some Old World charm, there was plenty of pluses to make up for it!

Room Tip: Get the highest floor possible and ask for a view of the Louvre, not the Eiffel Tower. We were able...

This is a large business hotel near to Gare de Montparnasse. Reception was efficient but totally impersonal, as was all the service. Bedroom was large and plain, but bathroom needed renovation. For some reason all TV stations were American, I could not find any French ones.
Breakfast was a normal type buffet, but the whole experience felt like being in an airport terminal, rather than a hotel.
