“Great hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

Great hotel, no problem at all. Close to the metro and to the monmartre. We enjoyed the stay and the room was clean. The breakfast could contain some cheese, only camembert but that was the only sting. The staf was riendly and could speak good english. I can recommend this hotel without any hesitation. Anders E

We spent four very comfortable nights here, in room 501 - big room, very quiet, lovely bathroom! As is common with Ibis hotels, there is no restaurant for evening meals, but there are many places to eat within 5 minutes walk. The breakfast was fine, usual croissants/jams/fruit. The hotel reception staff were, without fail, extremely helpful and polite. There are 2 Metro stations close by, and a Post Office, supermarket, etc. The hotel is 5 minutes in a taxi from Gard du Nord station.....but be sure to confirm with the driver the STREET address of the hotel....our driver took us to another, just around the corner....there are a lot of Ibis hotels in Paris!

Room Tip: 501 - it's a family room, but we were given it after asking for a quiet room - just e mail befor...

We had a nice city break in this hotel offering typical Ibis service and comfortable accomodation. The location allows good access to the public transport facilities thus to the main points of interest in Paris

The Ibis Paris Opera staff is very responsive to every request. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. We were a short walk from the Cadet subway stop with only four quick stops to the Paris Tourist information office at Pyrimides, and to boarding points for trips to Versailles and Mont St Michel. The walk to the Opera for the Hop-on Hop-off bus took us past H&M and the two huge Gallerie stores, as well as several fine restaurants where we sampled French foods and watched the world walk by. In the immediate neighborhood are pastry shops and French groceries, and a variety of smaller restaurants. After 3 hotel breakfasts, we opted to create our own, and to pack a picnic lunch for some of the tours. It was just right for us.

On arrival we where greeted warmly and the room was spacious (on the ground floor), the bed comfortable.
The breakfast, not much variety just cereal only plain yoghurt one type of cheese and one type of ham, coffee and assorted teas.So at 9euro's breakfast was overpriced.
the bar area not very inviting and only bottled beers and wines. The "restaurant" was not what we expected, as we have stayed in Ibis hotels before, this area we belive was the same area that breakfast was served in. In a good location with lots of restaurants nearby and close to metro so easy access to Paris's landmakes. So would stay again.

When we arrived we were met with a fairly rude receptionist who just shouted at a customer on the phone. We then got allocated to the smallest room on the floor despite booking for three-nights. Room facilities are the most basic with no mini-fridge, tea-coffee-making, nor safe. Expect the minimum on toiletories, and we were told no hand towels are provided. Otherwise rooms & reception area are relatively clean.

The receptionists were generally unhelpful. Our kid hurt his neck the next morning and I asked for details of hospital nearby. We were told there aren't any in Paris (total joke!). Eventually we made our way to the Necker Children's Hospital after speaking with friends who live in Paris.

Breakfast was not included in our room rate. We went down one morning and tried it out (€ 9 per person), not bad value for money but expect no hot food.

Overall, this hotel is ok but we are not excited about it.

This was my third stay at this hotel. I originally chose it because it is near a friend's apartment. Though chain hotels are not my usual style, the Ibis offers excellent value for Paris: the location is practical, both for the Eurostar and the centre of the city, and the neighbourhood is 'real' Paris, with some interesting streets within a few minutes' walk; the rooms are straightforward, quiet, comfortable (good bed and bathroom) and very clean. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. I didn't have breakfast in the hotel this time round, preferring to pop out to a café for a bit more local atmosphere (at a price, of course!).

The Ibis is not the place to stay if you are looking for period charm or funky style, but if you need somewhere that works, it's great.

My only real negative during the stay was that I returned to my room at 3pm one day to find it had not yet been made up. I told the housekeeper (who was a pleasure to deal with) and she got it sorted straight away. I also think that some of the towels were looking rather tired!
