“quite good budget hotel”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Located in 9th district - this is normal area, but like almost everywhere in Paris lots of noisy crowds, 30 min to Louvre. This hotel is not easy to find (it's in side street, in arch), near is underground station. Rooms are very small, but it wasn't a problem. Room's cleaning every day. In the room - tea, coffee, kettle, toiletries, towels. Bedding is clean. In our room was balcony. Elevator was very small - only two people can be fit into it. Breakfast is ok: cheese, bacon, croissants, jams, brad, muesli, coffee, tea - it was sufficient fir a long day. Of course there were no slippers (in 3 stars hotel in Paris - no slippers). For our active days in Paris this hotel was ok!

The only positive thing people say about this hotel is 'Great location'! Is it really that great? I'm not convinced, isn't everywhere great if you have a 'hop on off bus tourist bus pass' or near a metro?
I would certainly not stay here again. No I wouldn't spend £100's on a room when I should be out experiencing Paris but understand if you stay here it is old, shabby, tiny rooms/halls, tiny old lift, wallpaper off walls, no room for 2 cases in the rooms, bathroom very old and no maintenance done for years it seems.
Didn't risk breakfast as everything else old, moldy and seemingly unclean.
Our bed was actually really clean and comfortable.

One last time, don't rely on taxi drivers - they have no idea where things are in our experience!

When we pulled up outside the hotel it looked very pretty with the flowering window boxes and was feeling quite happy.... but that is where it ended!
Reception did its job but felt like a smaller version of Faulty Towers. As we made our way up the very small (bit of a squeeze) spiral staircase, there was mold, paper hanging off the walls, cobwebs EVERWHERE.
The bedroom was small but wasnt surprised for Paris. But what I was shocked at was how many stains there was on bedding, throws, cushions, floors, bathroom. Hairs in bathroom (not mine) mold yet again in and around shower- disgusting. Furniture falling apart, doors hanging off, fixtures not working properly.
Nights sleep.... what i got of it anyway. Could hear absolutely EVERYTHING going on in other rooms even rooms on opposite side of landing........ very thin walls indeed!
We ended up eating elsewhere for breakfast as it looked as if it had been there days!

Plus point- very close to shopping area for Galleries lafayette, can walk within 10-15 min.

Great location and value for money which we found good for a weekend away for a hen do.
Rooms were small but not a problem and quite the norm for paris. Pretty balcony and traditional windows was nice feature. Only problems were noisy neighbours and cleaners up very early in the morning, AC and safe did not work and fire alarm went off on Saturday morning at 7:30am. Booking taxis were also a nightmare but staff were reasonably helpful.

Stayed here for 5 nights in September. Rooms are small but what you should expect for this price range in Paris. Nothing fancy, but is fine for those who aren't here to hang out in their hotel rooms. Very ideal location- close to many sights and metro lines. Lots of restaurants and cafes within minutes of the hotel. Staff were very helpful in making travel suggestions and were accommodating when I requested to be moved rooms upon arrival (originally on ground floor but moved up to the 3rd). Did not try the breakfast as I referred to try local cafes.

Aston hotel is a small hotel, the location is perfect.
Near the metrostation and bars, restaurants...
People who worked there are very friendly.
The rooms are a little small, and also the bed.
Breakfast is good!

The good points of the hotel are that it is on a quiet street, but right off a main street with a convenient metro stop just a couple of minutes away. The neighborhood is fine - there is a seemingly nice Holiday Inn just around the corner. The staff was lovely and helpful. The bed was comfortable.

I had a single room. The room was small, but I didn't expect anything else. It was clean and kept clean, but it was a question of WHAT was clean. The carpet did have some stains. The bathroom light fixture was cracked and had mismatched bulbs. The towel rack in the bathroom was broken. Also, for what was offered, 12 Euros for the breakfast seemed high (though it seems that this is the going rate in Paris these days...)

I can't say I had a bad stay at all. However it seemed to me that with just a small investment, the hotel could be a real "find" in a very expensive city, rather than just a so-so place to stay.
