My wife and I had a wonderful stay at your hotel from Oct. 6-15, 2012. We enjoyed your excellent breakfast and charming lobby and your quiet and comfortable rooms. The location, right off Boulevard St. Michel was very convenient for walking, bus, or Metro. Try the local bistros, like Au Pere Louis, rather than the more touristy places, if you want more traditional Parisian food.

Dear Rich49_12,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about our hotel. Such a great review ! We are very glad to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. This is exactly our goal every day.
I couldn't agree more with you, and highly recommend Au Pere Louis, the best place in the area for a glass of wine and a nice selection of cheese or delicatessen with friends.
Hopefully we'll have the pleasure of welcoming you back very soon.
Kind regards,
Mrs Veronique ROYER,

I have stayed all over the world. This hotel is a French hotel located 3 blocks from Notre Dame and about 30 min from the Museum D'Orsay. Our room - 709 - was on the top floor - very quiet and immaculate. The breakfast for 14 Euro was excellent and well worth it. We stayed here for 4 nights and the staff was very helpful. We arrived at 1:00 pm and our room was ready. Taxi was provided was great. There is a small grocery store around the corner. If you want to pay $ 700 a nite to be on the other side of the river, you won't get much more for location. Would stay again. We had a view of Notre Dame and the Sorborne from our window

I do not mind staying in more run down hotels that are old fashioned, if the price is less and the place is clean. But the room was quite tiny, with a single bed, and the walls very thin. The bathroom tiling was pretty but the bathtub had a lot of dirt or sand or something in it, and when I asked to have it cleaned there was no cleaning crew available (at night) and no accommodation by the desk staff. If I could give it 2.5 I would because the location is convenient to a number of railway stops, restaurants, the Sorbonne, and Notre Dame. For this location, you could probably find a hotel that costs a bit more but is more professionally run.

Dear sypai68,
First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to post a review about our hotel. All your feedbacks are very valuable for us. Positive or negative, they are the best way to improve our service. We are very sensitive to customers’ appreciations and I am deeply sorry for the failed expectation.
Our standard rooms have the usual parisian size given the period buildings in old areas of Paris. We also have some king size bed rooms, which are larger.
Cleanliness is essential for us, and I'm confident the chambermaid left the room tidy. We may have had a plumbing problem, and indeed there is no one at night. It must have been fixed the next morning. I'm sorry for the delay.
Again, we apologize for your disppointment.
I truly hope you will consider staying with us again so that we can provide the best service. In the meanwhile I remain,
Sincerely yours,
Mrs Veronique ROYER,
Manager

Mark from Tennessee

We spent 10 nights at the Best Western Trianon Rive Gauche, September 28 through October 7, for our 31st anniversary and it will be our hotel of choice in Paris from now on. The hotel honored our prior request and provided us a room with a balcony with two chairs and a table - a very comfortable venue at the end of each day. Light sleepers may want to consider that the street-side rooms face a college dorm and look out over the Sorbonne - it's a typical college atmosphere with the accompanying periodic late-night noise. We slept right through it in our very comfortable bed.

From our 6th floor perspective, we could see the Eiffel Tower sparkle on the hour until 1 a.m. The room had a queen-size bed and ample storage space for our clothing and other possessions. Amenities such as the closet safe and internet connection worked well, and ice can be obtained at the front desk. In all, the room was most satisfactory – a centrally-located base of operations for all the sites we wanted to see in and around Paris. It is near multiple metro stations, and RER connections are also within easy walking distance. The location is wonderful – multiple bakeries, cafes, and restaurants, and a hundred stores were within a 3-5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. French law requires that the menu be posted in front of each sit-down eating establishment, which precludes surprises and also provides consistent information concerning plate dejures and other specials. The Cluny Museum, the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Gardens, and the churches - to name only a few - of St. Sulpice, Notre Dame, and St. Entienne are all within 10 minutes of the hotel. The Monoprix (France’s worthy answer to Target) is two blocks down Blvd. Saint-Michel and has any product – including name-brand wines and spirits - that a traveler may need.

It is obvious that Madame Royer is an excellent manager who has evidently set high expectations for her staff based on the consistently great service we experienced over the course of our stay. All of the hotel staff we encountered – from the front desk to the maids – treated us with friendly competence and cooperation every time we made a request or asked for information. We always attempt to use French when we interact with others in Paris, but the staff is bilingual and made our efforts unnecessary only adding to our sense of ease and comfort.

In the future, we'll only need to shop for airline tickets in preparation for our next trip to Paris. After our most recent one, our home away from home is now the Best Western Trianon Rive Gauche.

Room Tip: Upper-floor (6th and higher) have balconies on the street side.

I agree with the previous reviews this hotel is a good location for easily reaching the sites of Paris as well as good restaurants. Since we were there for 7 nights, our only minor issue was the lack of a mini-fridge.

This is undoubtedly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at in Europe. Stay away from this dump. The rooms were small, dirty, and poorly ventilated. The tv did not work, the towels were paper thin and it felt like a boarding house with evil proprietors. The staff were unhelpful and there is absolutly no security. On top of that it was overpriced. I can't believe Best Western actually allows it's name to be used at this place. Find another hotel in this area which is a good location but please do not stay here. On our last day someone walked into the breakfast area and stold a purse and ran away. The staff "didn't see anything" and the "security camera" wasn't working. What a dump.

Dear tom c,
I have read your review carefully, as our guests' feedbacks are very important for us.
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. All comments are important to us, positve or negative, as they are the best way to improve our service. We do our best every day so that you have an amazing stay, and the quality of the service we provide is essential.
Please allow me to address the charges you've laid against us :
We have flat screen TVs with satellite channels. I haven't been told about any problem, and we have a mainenance department to fix any dysfunction at once.
We are sorry to hear we are "evil" proprietors, maybe it is somehow excessive...
The most important point is our supposed lack of security. We have 24/7 excellent CCTV. Our breakfast lounge is a public area, we cannot stop anyone from entering. Pickpockets are unfortunately a global problem, and no one should ever leave their belongings in a public area unattended... Our video cameras work just fine, and we can see the thief on tape. Of course we kept a record for the police, as we already told by email...
Again I'm really sorry for your disappointment, please accept my apologies.
Warmest regards,
Mrs Veronique ROYER,
Manager.

My mother and I stayed at the Trianon Rive Gauche for 3 nights in early October. Just steps from the Pantheon, Sorbonne and Luxembourg Gardens in the Latin Quarter, this hotel is close to the RER B and C lines as well as the Metro 4 and 10 lines. Notre Dame is a short stroll away and there are many restaurants near by. We were able to take the RER B train without transfers from Gare du Nord (for Eurostar arrivals) and to Roissy Charles de Gaulle Aeroport to fly out without any awkward transferring with luggage.

We requested a room on a high floor with a view of the Eiffel Tower and were very happy with the result. Granted, we had to open the window (floor to ceiling) and look left but it was still better than we could have hoped. The room (#707) was very small but managed to fit in 2 twin beds (as requested), end tables, a desk & chair, stool and luggage holder. No drawers or shelves, just an open closet. The bathroom was also small but had a bathtub which was a pleasant surprise.

We opted not to have the room serviced one day and upon our return from sightseeing, found a bag of fresh towels by the door. The front desk staff was very nice and our room was ready when we arrived, 3 hours before check-in.

The price was higher than I would have wanted but location costs in every city.
