Firstly, the location. This hotel couldn't be better situated if you want to walk to the main sights, with the Tuileries Gardens at the end of the street. We specifically chose it for this, and were not disappointed.
Secondly, this is a very expensive part of Paris (though we found everywhere expensive) so be prepared to walk away from the Vendome/Rivoli area if you want to save a few Euros on food.
The rooms are comfortable, with everything you require and a smart clean and spacious bathroom. Hanging space for clothes was very limited, however. In a hot August in Paris we were glad of the effective air conditioning.
The staff were generally friendly and helpful and spoke good English. As a group of 4 women, when we arrived we were asked if two of us would like single rooms, and we got the impression that this was so they did not have to remake the beds in a double room as singles. We declined. We also had a couple of problems with the shower and lighting, both of which were solved promptly whilst we were out for the day.
We took breakfast one morning, which had an excellent choice and quality of food, from fresh fruit to cooked items, including cooked to order omelettes. Be warned however that the 'special offer' summer rate only applies if you take breakfast every day of your stay, as we didn't feel this was made clear.
I do have to praise the staff for their helpfulness when one of my friends unfortunately had her wallet stolen when out at a restaurant.
All in all, a well located, clean, and comfortable hotel.

I am a frequent traveler and have stayed around the globe, but I have NEVER seen such terrible service in a "boutique hotel".

Where to begin... or even end!!!! It has taken me several hours on a drive from Paris to Frankfurt to cool down enough to write this review!!

Check in - slow
Hallway to my room - filthy and in disrepair photo attached of the ceiling outside my room
Air conditioning??? It did not feel like there was any!
Deadbolt lock on door - had to lean in on door and pull up in order to make the door lock
In room safe - did not work
Wifi- only worked in the spiral staircase (not even in the lobby)
Calling reception- had to call a few times in order to reach reception and room service.
Room Service- When I finally reached room service by phone- delivery was quick and my dinner was flavorful.

Now to the worst part... service at breakfast!
As a solo business traveler I can NOT believe that I was told because I was alone there was only ONE table I could use. The entire restaurant was empty!!!
Asked for coffee NEVER received it.
Staff was RUDE!!!

After breakfast I asked reception to speak with a manager....receive nothing but excuses from the front desk clerk and I never did speak with a manager.

The only thing going for this place is the location. Probably the only reason it is still in business! There is no reason to stay here with so many REAL boutique hotels in the area.

I have added a pic of the hallway outside my room. The filthy floor did not photography well due to the lighting. It had not been vacuumed in quite some time. It was vacuumed after I made a comment to staff.

I have also added a picture of the dining room wondering WHY there was such an issue... Can someone please explain why I could NOT sit at any of the empty tables shown in photograph??

Very nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Booked 2 mos in advance for anniversary trip. We received a complimentary room upgrade upon arrival. Room was well-appointed. Best of all was the hotel location - centrally located on quiet street 1 block from Tulieries Gardens and Concorde metro stop. We referred several friends to Melia, all had a great experience. We will definitely being staying at Melia again on our next trip.

I've probably stayed here four or five dozen times and it's a lovely hotel. The staff is great, particularly Nicholas behind the bar. Most of the rooms are unique and vary dramatically by size but the furnishings are consistent. If you can't get a taxi you can usually find one at The Ritz on the back side of the block. And speaking of The Ritz, don't even DREAM of missing The Hemingway Bar. Drinks amid Underwood typewriters? It doesn't get any better then that.

We've stayed at this hotel a few times bc of it's excellent location and great value in the months of May & Sept. All walking distance are Tuileries Garden, The Louvre, Musee Du Orsay, the Orangeree, Angelina Cafe. Half hour walk to Notre Dame, St Germain hood. Beautiful walks. Rooms are clean, comfortable and friendly staff always. Pierre Herme delish macaroons 2 doors down. Big Bonus. These macaroons are exquisite!!!! Overall, can't go wrong with Melia Vendome :)))

Wonderful location, a big lobby. Very nice and gentle staff.
The room was very small. We have made our reservation like 5 months ahead but we can not get an upgrade when we notice the size of the room. The bed was small too and the a/c was not working ok. The bathroom was ok.
In general is a good hotel but the room... The thing is, I continue repeating it, that if you make a reservation with so months ahead the hotel must respect it. Now a days "standard rooms" are the worst rooms in the hotels

Wonderful location, staff for the most part very nice.
Administration/Manager staff complete losers. The three nights we stayed the air conditioner worked inadequately for one night and not at all for the rest. The explanation from the manager : this is Paris and we were lucky to have air at all. so we were given an apology and then the equivalent of 50 USD off our bill for not having an air conditioner for a 400 USD a night room for 3 nights. Oh yes you need an air conditioner in the middle of June, it's sweltering in their rooms without one.

Room Tip: find one with windows that will cross ventilate the smoggy Paris atmosphere.
