“Disappointed, sorry.”
Reviewed July 25, 2010

Booked into the hotel through the Accor A-Club scheme with a good discount, based on the location and reviews on here for when the hotel was under previous management I was quite confident in our choice. It wasn't an awful hotel and it takes a lot for me to complain BUT here goes..

Found the hotel no problem whatsoever. I know Paris quite well and the hotel is just minutes off of the Champs Elysees. Check in was efficient and the member of staff very friendly. Got to out room, loved the character and French windows, the fabric on the walls although the carpet let off quite a stale smell we just opened the windows and tried to ignore it..

Within ten minutes of arriving though we noticed that whenever the tap in the bathroom sink was running, the water would stream out of a leak in the pipe, soaking the floor and your feet. Immediately we phoned reception and a member of staff could see what we were talking about, said it was too late tonight to change our room but he would arrange for it to happen tomorrow. We told him we would be out all day from early in the morning, and he promised this would be no problem - that he would leave a note for his manager to arrange the next day.

So the next day we arrived back at the hotel in the evening, spoke to reception who knew nothing about our problem. They said it would be the next day now they could switch us. Fine, but we were only staying for three nights and two of those would be spent with towels mopping up water on the bathroom floor...

So the next morning we asked reception before leaving for a day's sightseeing (Bastille Day). They told us to pack our bags so we could transfer rooms very shortly. We waited and we waited, then there was a phonecall saying the room wasn't ready but as long as our bags were packed, they would trasfer them during the day. So it was midday before we left the hotel that day.

When we arrived back we had been transferred to a room in an annexe of the hotel, across a cortyard in an older building. The bannister for the windy staircase (there was no lift) was not even fixed to the floor in some places (so dangerous we couldn't believe it!). Our room had a buzzing air conditioner, the hair dryer socket was falling out of the wall with dangerous wiring exposed and there was ivy all around the windows (a ladybug fell in the room as soon as we opened the window).

We felt like we didn't have another two days to wait for another room so we just sucked it up and vowed not to spend much time in there. The next morning we told a very attentive and kind lady on reception we weren't happy, but her 'boss', in a shabby t shirt I think did not actually acknowledge any of our complaints.

I felt really let down by the whole experience. The hotel has the power to be so great but each of those small incidents just tainted our experience, but thankfully not our holiday overall.

Although in a good location, the room was tiny and the shower room even smaller! Our room was on the 5th floor (with a view of the top of the eiffel tower) and was in the sun for the entire day. This would be great had the air conditioning been working, however it was not, resulting in the room being almost unbearable. However we did not ask to be moved so perhaps we are to blame! Do not think it is value for money though.

We stayed in this hotel in the first week of June. We booked a junior suite for 300 euros as it was the only ROOM accommodating 3 people.
The room given to us was on the third floor and there is NO lift in the hotel. Thankfully our luggage was transferred up. As we had payed so much, we expected a good size room but instead got a small room with two floors. Mind you, it was actually VERY small with a round staircase going up. The first day it self the air conditioning on the upper floor was not working at all. We contacted the staff who said that nothing could be done about it as all rooms were full.
Thankfully the weather at night was okay so we managed without an A/C and with the fan provided to us by the reception. The staff is friendly.
The location of this hotel is actually good but its not ON champs elysees as the name suggests. About a 7-8 min walk.. Very safe location.
We didnt take the breakfast as there were nearly 3 supermarkets very close by where we could get everything that is there in the breakfast. Also there is a small PIZZA HUT located at a 2 minute walk only.
Would not reccomend this hotel for large families but for single travellers or couples, it seems to be good. However would not stay here again when coming with family
Would be glad to try other accor hotels. For more info- visit www.accorhotels.com

We stayed 3 nights here and were given a room on the first floor, I wouldn't recommend staying on the first floor as you get woken up by the breakfast staff very early. Also the bed was very uncomfortable and resulted in a bad nights sleep. In the morning I went to reception and explained, we were transferred to a lovely room across the small courtyard, much bigger, separate bathroom and toilet and were very happy for the rest of the stay. The location is great, with the metro not far and also a good small supermarket very close by for buying cheese, bread etc for lunches and snacks, which in such an expensive city like Paris can save you a lot of money!

The Hotel is clean, the rooms are small for the American standard but reasonable by the European standard, the French personnel at the front desk speak very good English and Spanish, they provide maps, taxi service to the train station, located at walking distance to mayor attractions.

I will pick on this hotel, but I now have experience with several Mercure hotels (and hence the motivation for my note). I have, for the third time, experienced a situation at Mercure hotels where the internet was inoperative. Each time, the front desk was unable to solve the problem. Worse, there was nobody to call. There's something wrong with how they do internet. A business disaster for me (again) as internet access is critical in my travels. Further the internet was profoundly slow at all hotels. Not a business travelers hotel. Period.

Myself and my partener stayed for 2 nights at this hotel we travelled eurostar leisure select. We got a taxi to this hotel which cost around 30 euros. This hotel has a great location all walking distance to all main sights. The hotel staff were very helpful.

The Rooms are quiet small and the bathroom even smaller but how long are you really in the hotel for! Not long.... We booked our package through Cresta Cities. The breakfast was a good choice of continental foods and lots of tea/coffee/orange juice.

I would defiently stay at this hotel again for its location, price and good service
