You'd think that the macarons at a store that advertises its owner is an MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) would be amazing and beyond compare...
Well. No. They weren't, at least not the ones we just had and were a distant second to the ones we had from a patisserie on Rue des Rosiers.
The macarons from Msr. Larnicol's shop were at least a few days old, lacked crunch and had muddled flavours. Technically, they were imperfect, varying in size by at least 1cm in diameter and half that in height.
Perhaps the other treats were of better quality, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on the heaps that were piled in the display cases. None of them can be fresh or well cared for in that environment.
