“Horrible Place!”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

Unless you are forced to stay there against your will, fine, but if you have a choice, I would not even look in the direction of this place.
The pictures on the website are somewhat realistic, but they do not show how SMALL the rooms are. The towels they provide are probably older than the hotel (and also dirty). The linens on beds could also be cleaner..but oh well. There is no lift and no one to help you with your bags.
The staff speak very limited English and tend to respond in French! Doh! If I speak to you in English it's probably because I don't speak French!
Facilities in the room also need some (A LOT OF) fixing...showers are definitely first on the list!
Oh, and if you still want to stay there, make sure you enjoy 5am-wake up, because there is a chance that you will be woken up by a fire alarm and I can assure you that the staff will not even lift a finger to deal with it.
And now the best part: the cleaning personnel. If you have anything valuable that you bring with you, please, don't leave it in the room, as you will never find it again! They have stolen my RayBan sunglasses and pretended like nothing ever happened. When threatened to be reported to the police, they promised me lots of things, but NOTHING has ever been done. Now that I am back in Italy I have been trying to call and email them, but I get to answer.
So yeah, read what I wrote above and seriously ,think twice before you book Villa Bellagio!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my Girlfriend from 30th December 2011 to 2nd January 2012.

Good points;

* Location - Oberkampf is a great area, lots of good bars, cafes and restaurants. Parmentier Metro station is 5-10 minutes walk and you can get anywhere easily from there.
* Free Wifi.
* Room (20) was a good size and felt clean and modern.
* Water pressure was good in bathroom.
* Staff friendly.

Bad points;

* No parking.
* No lift to any floor. I expect this in Paris but there was no offer of assistance with baggage which made the place feel like a Hostel.
* Although the staff were friendly they appeared to be part-time students earning a bit of money. None of the staff spoke good English which made communicating hard given that we spoke limited French!
* Towels and sheets only changed once in 3 nights.
* The fridge and kettle in our room did not work.
* The door to our room was thin and rattled at night every time a neighbouring room used its door or if someone went up or down the stairs.

it was busy for the maison d'objet and we left it late to book but i still wouldnt advise staying here. It calls itself Bastille /Marais but its actually miles away. The old mattress stacked against the doorway should have told us but we didnt have much choice. The room was spacious and clean but there were no products and fripperies. The hallway was dirty and there is no lift. We were out all day and came back to change before heading off again. when we returned at about midnight there was an extremely loud club spilling out onto the street and the noise continued until at least 4 am.we got very little sleep. Not a good place

Clean and newly renovated, but plain. Slightly off but a nice neighbourhood.
