The last couple of reviews summarized the many benefits and (very very few) drawbacks well. Stay here for an excellent European 4 star (fellow North Americans, please DON'T use our NA star standards in europe...just stop.) The breakfast is lovely with mini croissants, bread, cheese, yogurt, plain crepe...served on a cutting board NOT paper (that paper is called a place mat) and hot tea or coffee. It is NOT 'a cold' continental, per a previous review. It's a few French flavours beautifully presented in a uncluttered fashion. It is well done. Stairs are circular and narrow which is typical of French row properties. Just ask for the lights on and you'll be fine. Don't come with Costco sized suitcases, dear N Americans. Again, we are in Europe. The lift is fine....small but efficient. Enjoy this great little place.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of August. The hotel is a short taxi ride from Gard du Nord (Euro6 or so in a taxi). The hotel is a small boutique hotel, the room was very nicely decorated. All hotel rooms in Paris are small but this was a fair size for what we expected. The room and bathroom were very clean and we were given new towels each day. There was also a fridge / mini bar in the room. The bathroom is small but for 2 nights it was fine. The reception staff were informative and gave recommendations for nice places to eat etc and directions. The nearest metro station is Cadet which is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The area is filled with restaurants and only a short distance from the Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coure. Galleries Lafeyette / Opera is about a 10/15 minute walk away.

Breakfast is served until 10am and is served on a wooden board and quirky old tea pots and milk bottles. Everyone was very helpful. I would definetely recommend this hotel. I will return as the location was ideal to get to everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a couple of nights here in August.

The room was huge and really well presented with a very 'trendy' vibe that was carried through into the rest of the hotel's decor. There was a free soft drinks and beer perk in the room fridge which was great.

The staff on arrival weren't very friendly but efficient enough. There was one guy who we met on reception a fewvtines who was more welcoming but the customer service on the whole was a little disappointing.

Breakfast was great.

Location was excellent for Gare du nord and there is a couple of metro stations nearby to access the centre. Really liked the area; lots of lovely little restuarants, cafes and bars.

For a place that rates itself a 4 star establishment, I was disappointed. Had they been rated 3 star, that would have been far more appropriate and my expectations wouldn’t have been so high. The hotel is very conveniently located in the Montmarte area of Paris and is literally walking distance to such attractions as The Moulin Rouge and Sacrecour Cathedral. The hotel facilities are clean and well kept, but very basic. The hotel serves a cold continental breakfast for 7 euro every morning so my husband and I decided we would rather buy a box of cereal and milk for breakfast to save some money, and the hotel couldn’t even provided basic amenities like bowls and spoons for us to eat with so we had to eat it out of mugs using teaspoons we’d hustled from the kitchen. Housekeeping was also non-attentive to detail and on several occasions the tissues in the bathroom weren’t replaced or the bedding hadn’t been changed. The lifts in the hotel are TINY and if like us you had big pieces of luggage, the lift could only fit one of us at a time with one piece of luggage (no, I’m not kidding!). A plus for the hotel is the fact that the front-door staff are very friendly and very helpful and so could advise us on places to eat and what to do in the area. On the whole, I would probably stay at this hotel again, but it must be made clear that this is definitely not a 4 star hotel so come with moderate expectations and you’ll enjoy your stay a whole lot more.

Dear Friends
thank you for your advice, your opinion is very important to improve our services
You was disappointed for A 4 star hotel but you probably make a mistake : our property is not 4 star but a very good 3 STAR hotel. I suggest you to check with your travel agent.
Concerning the service it's really not possible to buy your pastries at at baker shop and eats it with the other guest in our breakfast room, i am sure you ll understand that.
As you say, our hotel is a very good 3 star boutique hotel ... but no more
I hope you ll stay once again at LA TOUR D AUVERGNE if you re not looking for a palace

Bijou accommodation as is usual in Paris. Tiny room and bathroom but clean and pleasant enough. Could benefit from a lick of paint in a few areas in the room but not a huge issue. Lack of anything in english other than news
On the tv. One of those coffin like lifts which opens almost directly in front of stairs on 4th floor so be careful especially at night when the small corridors are pitch black as lights on timer switches. Breakfast was unusually served without plates eating off a paper tablecloth. Consisted of bread and jams and tea or coffee. No real bar more a mini bar in the breakfast room. Staff very pleasant but not very plentiful (as this hotel only has 24 rooms) and no facilities so not really needed. Bed comfortable shower OK and air con working but restricted to 19c.
So all in all a reasonable place to stay. Remember these little hotels dont have any flexibility we wanted to keep the room for a couple of hours extra but it was a flat no. Locality not so great Paris seems to stink of urine these days and there seem to be many more street drinkers/homeless folk amount.area around Gare du nord not great so would avoid if you can. Temps were in the high 30s so best to ask any taxis you use if they have aircon and are going to turn it on!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on lower floors as the lift is pretty scary. Take care at night due to dark corrido...

We've made a reservation at this hotel throught the "Hotwire" site, where you can't see the name and location of the hotel choosed until you finish the payment (than you pay less than the normal prices), so we didn't know what to expect. But the ratings here at Tripadvisor were really good, and we hoped to have a good experience.
When we got there, it was a wonderful surprise! All renovated, very comfortable and modern, the hotel is a real "gem" in Paris! And very well-located. Our room was very well decorated, not very big but really cosy and silent, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom very pretty and renewed, with a great shower. The towels were soft, the air-conditioning worked perfectly (what usually doesn't happen in Europe!) and all the "ambience" of the hotel was great.
We didn't take the breakfast because it was not included in our rate and we found it expensive.
The hotel is located very near to the Montmartre district (metro station Anvers), and to the "Gare du Nord" station. We usually took the metro at the station "Cadet", which is near too, and from there you can go directly to the Louvre museum or to some other popular places in Paris.
I totally recommend it, worths the experience! Specially in Paris, where the hotels are usually old, not very clean and too expensive.

My husband and I were sadly disappointed by the hotel after having read such lovely reviews on Trip Advisor. Our room was one of the last rooms available when we booked for 6 nights in June2012. This may have accounted for our tiny room. The room was extremely small it had been a normal size bedroom but was made small by the late addition of the ensuite along one wall. Our room faced onto an internal space. I did get to peer into another room which was definitely bigger than ours and faced onto the street. Other couples we spoke to seemed to have better accommodation for less money than we paid. The hotel although close to Gare Du Nord is not easy to find as there are no direct roads running down to the hotel. On the positive side it is a quite hotel with good hot water and supermarket, bakeries and Cadet metro close by.
