Food tasted OK but was luke warm. Vegetarian meel was cold and tasteless. It was sent back and recieved scolding hot.

Service was just terrible with waiter not paying attention or writeing anything down and had to get back and ask what we should have. Waiter standing next to the table jumping like he has to pee?!

Had read some positive and some not so good ones but decided to give it a try. Being a vegetarian, its difficult to find cheap places for a filling meal. Not exactly dirt cheap, but then this is Paris. Me and my brother reached here a little but were greeted very warmly and the service was super quick allowing us to leave in time. Not a fancy meal but it serves the purpose.

We were done with our visit to Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle and thought of having an Early lunch and found this hotel next to us, we headed in that direction and the boards with Menu looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. However as the last review said "Appearences can be deceptive". I didnt really understand the theme of the hotel in first place, Orange Chiffon cover over the chairs and a Huge hookah on the table which shook horribly everytime we moved the chair, it looks more like a hookah Joint than a restaurant. However i have seen how horrible Indian restaurants go when they to be Ethnic and this was no different or maybe one of the horrible decors i have seen. Neverthess believing in "Appearences Can be Deceptive" we decided to give it a try. Our First order was Onion Pakoda and i have describe the Dih and i am so sorry that i didnt take a photograph of this, it was dripping oil from all sides, it had a horrible carrot designed flower which i dared not touch after seeing a balck covering on the Sides and the Salad below (Lettuce, cabbage i guess) was definitely more than 2-3 Days old. Thinking worst was over we decided to order the main course. The Main Course was like adding insult to the Injury. The Chilli Chicken i ordered was nothing like what i know it tastes like it felt as if there was a 2 day old sauce already prepared which was heated and the chicken was fried and dipped into that sauce. Probabaly the most horrible Dish i have ever tasted. Adding to that the Indian Bread was half cooked i could easily see that and i had that returned and asked to be cooked better, the one that came in after that was ivercooked and burnt. How easy it is to be able to cook Indian Bread when you call yourself an Indian Restaurant ? We didnt had courage to eat the bread again. I think the person attending to us was very nice and helping however this restaurant needs a good Chef very Very Badly and can become a health hazard for some people.

My husband and I fell upon this very attractive Indian restaurant in the no smoking streets of Rue de la Harpe. The restaurant advertises meal deals and we were initially attracted by the low prices., including a 10 Euro menu. When told it wasn't available that day we didnt quibble because it did seem rather cheap and settled on the 12.50 menu instead. The food was of a poor quality and quantity on the small side. Some may argue we paid for what we got given the area we were in. This rating is based mainly on our feeling that this restaurant were determined to get as much money out of us as possible! First the menu that didn't exist, then by charging for 2 coke's we didn't order. (the place was quiet, cosy and no one in the restaurant had placed an order for coke that we could see). When we brought this to the waiter's attention he provided us with a corrected bill but when my husband then proceeded to complete the card transaction, he noticed the amount was the same and still included the cokes. Not what you would expect and could so easily have been missed had it not been for my husband being eagle eyed. We left with the feeling that this was one of a number of tricks used to exploit tourists and received a weak apology after completing the transaction.

Love Indian food but don't know much about it. That said, I can recognize tasteless and poorly prepared food. And that's what I had at Safran tonight: downright tasteless vegetable curry that could have come from the frozen food aisle. Even the papadam tasted like the cook (no chef here) had prepared my order several hours ago. The service was about as bad as the food. Gotta be a better Indian restaurant in the Latin Quarter.
