Good hotel in an excellent location. Most major sites within walking distance and metro stop close by. Metro line direct to Gare de Nord station so quick and easy transfer if travelling on Eurostar. Rooms (twin room and single room) were clean and well-equipped. Comfortable beds (although a bit narrow) and everything you would need for a comfortable stay.
Hotel has been re-decorated since my last stay and much improved. Breakfast was well priced and a good selection.

This was a good recommendation as it was very reasonably priced, close to the Metro, Notre Dame, on a quiet street and reasonably comfortable for the price. It had two roomed units which was very convenient as were were travelling with our adult daughter. Le Pre Verre restaurant opposite was a good find for dinner.

This was our first visit to Paris and we found the Home Latin Hotel very comfortable, clean and in a great location. The staff were very helpful and spoke English. While the room was small ( as all in Paris) it met all our basic needs with fridge, tea making facilities and very comfortable bed. The weather was very pleasant during our stay, however we did notice their was no air conditioning. We would stay here again.

We stayed in August 2012 and although the weather was mixed the room was roasting, thankfully we were on the 5th floor and so had a baby balcony on which we could sit & enjoy the night air. The room was small but certainly no smaller than you'd find elsewhere in the central Paris (or in central Rome) and the space was well used with sufficient storage/hanging space for our 3 night stay but any longer and you would be living out of your suitcase. We stayed on a room only basis but there was a breakfast available at an additional charge if you wanted. This hotel is very well placed, easy to reach the Sorbonne, Notre Dame, etc & a relatively short walk from both Linea B (which goes to Charles de Gaule Airport) and a couple of metro stations, Cluny La Sorbonne & Odeon. There is a small Carrefour supermarket near to Odeon should you need provisions for your hotel room, that said mini-bar drinks were from €2 for soft drinks, no alcoholic ones in our fridge!
Close to the hotel you will find a plethora of eateries of all denominations and considering where you are I think you'll be surprised at just how reasonably priced some of them are; head for Rue St Severin and adjoining streets.
I'd use this hotel again especially if I could request a 5th floor room. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful and although they spoke English they encouraged me in speaking French which I appreciated as I don't get much practise at all.

We stayed at Home Latin in mid August of 2012. It was priced slightly higher than others we looked at but the location was much better. The rooms are quite small but the space is used well. The beds & pillows are comfortable. The man at the desk is lovely, speaks good english and was always happy to assist our questions & provide directions.
The elevator is very very small, and the rooms very very very hot. We were on the second floor, and could not be in the room during the middle of the day. Do not be fooled, they advertise that they have Air Conditioning, but it is in the lobby area only, not in any of the bedrooms. My recommendation would be ask for a ground floor room.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms as they would be cooler, also rooms that face the street have a lovely view but g...

Good starting point for city trip. Cartier Latin is a lively spot with a small market closeby. The hotel is a bit outdated but it gives reasonable value for money. Staff is helpful and breakfast is ok.

Price is slightly steep but the rooms are generally better than what you'd get at that price elsewhere in Paris -- I previously stayed in a dark tiny room with barely any space for my luggage for the same price. We stayed on a high floor with balcony and it was wonderful to be able to sit out there early in the morning as the sun rose to take in the iconic Parisian rooftops. Location-wise this hotel is great, only 3 stops from Gare du Nord (Eurostar), walking distance to the Île de la Cité (Notre Dame, Pont-Neuf), the Louvre and Jardin des Plantes. There's free wi-fi in the room; they'll generate a User ID and password for each person. And the service was very good. Super friendly staff who made us hot tea after we checked out and were waiting to leave for our Eurostar to London.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with balcony.
