Warm friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff. Nice rooms with cozy decoration. Easy access to subway and many excellent close by restaurants. This location is in a very nice area of Paris surrounded by water with spectacular sights everywhere. Hope to stay here again next time we are in Paris.

Been to Hotel de Lutece twice in one month.
The hotel is small and easily missed so look for it next to the local small supermarket.
My first stay was for 4 nights in room 442. View to the street and good size for a Paris hotel room...
My second was for 9 nights in room 223. View to the alley/courtyard and very small.
First stay was booked via Booking.com and second directly with the hotel. Check hotel website as they have a variety of deals and it comes out cheaper than on Bookings.

First stay was amazing. Second was only OK.
Most of the staff are very friendly and try to be helpful but remember that this is a small hotel.

When requesting the second stay I asked for a front facing room with one bed and not twins. Although the hotel was not fully booked I got a small twin room facing the back. It didn't help the long stay there and I got the feeling that someone was a little bit taking advantage of a situation. I was also billed a sum higher than that published on their site for 3-night stays (I stayed three 3-night stays).

Nevertheless, the hotel is charming, clean and has an atmosphere.

Heating was working well and there was free Wifi and constant hot-water in the rooms. Note that in some of the rooms (eg 442), you need to turn the knob right for hot water - just opposite the regular way. I ended up finding this after waiting for more than 5 minutes for hot water with the knob turned left, as usual.
Also, some of the beds are quite old and have a depression in the middle (both in room 223). They are also very soft, not great for people with any back problems.

Didn't bother with the additionally priced breakfast (13Eu) except for once - it is a regular breakfast but very expensive.
There is a boulangerie right across where I could get my morning coffee and cake to go at less than 5Eu :)

In short - very nice, atmospheric hotel in a great place. Management very "sticky to the dollar" (or Euro) with no thought to general impression...

Yes, I would stay here again but only after defining very clearly the price and what I get for it. Would also recommend to my friends under same conditions.

Room Tip: I loved the front facing 4th floor room. Note that the elevator only reaches 4th floor and there are higher rooms as well. Some of the double/twin rooms are very small for two people (room 223) - as are probably most double rooms in Paris but you need to set your expectations...

This must be the best hotel I have used in Paris. Its location is perfect providing an ideal position for visiting Paris. The street is quiet at all times which is surprising being on an island which is in itself a tourist attraction.
The hotel itself have very pleasant rooms with large bathrooms. The view onto the street is worthwhile so as to watch life go by. The rooms are easy to get to by lift. Staff are very friendly and most obliging. Breakfast is perfect and provides sufficient for the most discernible of guest.

Room Tip: Rooms to the front of hotel allow views of street and the shops oposite.

This is a lovely small property in a spectacular location on the Ile de St. Louis. Our room was tiny, but our bathroom was big and beautifully remodeled. The staff was super helpful and everyone spoke either terrific English, or enough for us to get along. Lovely spot for a short stay. Breakfast is good, but an extra charge...kind of expensive, but worth the convenience. Best to be aware that you will be charged.
We loved our experience. Just two nights, but we'll definitely stay there again.

A bite size piece of Paris; explore the Ile Saint Louis and neighboring Ile de la Cite. Get a feel for original Paris. I've stayed in 6 or 7 different rooms over time. Each is completely unique; some larger, some smaller. The attention the ownership has given to details, finishes, and comfort is wonderful. The bathrooms always seem spacious and lovely. Many of the front and rear views are out and over the rooftops of Paris: this endears the hotel to me by itself. Lovely Natalie at the front desk has moved on but the current staff, multilingual, is always helpful, attentive and very well informed. The breakfast is quite wonderful; you can eat as much or as little as you wish. I S-L is a quite place so sleeping is not a problem. Exactingly clean. Recommended.

Room Tip: 661 is worth the asking.
