It´s a small but lovely hotel, in the heart of Paris. The rooms are great and the personal is very kind. The best of all is the breakfast, with real french bread and good coffee.
The only problem is that you have to climb many stairs to get to your room, and the hotel doesnt have elevator.

First things first: no, this historic hotel has no elevator. If you are unfit or hate climbing stairs, do not stay here, or at least ask for a ground floor room. Now that we've got that out of the way, the du Lys is a delightful old hotel that met all of my romantic notions of what a Paris hotel should be, -- balconys with rooftop views right out of the 1800's, eccentric stairs, narrow halls and wooden doors -- it was a bit like being in a museum. Our bathroom was excellent with a tub and shower. The rooms vary greatly in layout and each is different -- we sampled three altogether with our group.

If you are bothered by non-standard accommodation you'd best head to a Holiday Inn. If you enjoy character (and an exquisite croissant/baguette/jam/coffee/fresh OJ breakfast on a tray carried to your room if you want) try the du Lys. The lobby is out of a novel. Loved this place.

Room Tip: If you can climb stairs, ask for one of the more expensive rooms at the top -- nice view of neighbor...

1. The loction of the hotel is on the left bank of Seine river, not far away from cite island.
The Metro and RER station just several minutes away.
2. The decoration of this hotel used something from Qing dynasty. There is a old man preparing
breakfast for us from china.
3. When we go back,i forget my keys in the hotel. They mailed the keys to me in time.
4.Room is clean,if children with you,bed for child is comfortable too.

Room Tip: Room number is not so much,12? Don't hesitate,or you will lose the chance.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. There was plenty of people who spoke English and generally it was a good experience. I thought that the price was a too high as compared to similar properties in other cities; but that is Paris! We were twenty minutes walk to the Louvre, thirty minutes to the Eiffel Tower, and about the same to the Military Museum. Two minutes walk to the Latin Quarter with what seemed like endless streets full of happy people and sidewalk restaurants.

Room Tip: We were up three flights of stairs, try to get a room on the first floor because the semi-spiral sta...

If you are looking for a romantic weekend in Paris, Look no Further. In a charming narrow side street, Serpent street, off the Boule Miche. The Hotel du Lys gives the impression of being a well kept secret. Only a stroll, 5 minutes, actually, from the Seine, convenient for romantic late night strolls in the moonlight, In the vibrant Latin Quarter of Paris. The ambiance is chic antique, the rooms give a delightful impression of La Boheme with all mod cons. There is no lift because the house is genuinely old. However, finding yourself in that genuine Paris is for lovers ambiance, you won't care. There are lots of little lanes with Jazz bars on the other side of the Boule Miche for that late night armagnac and cafe noir before bedtime.Be central, be cool, live the dream, and you won't break the bank either.

Room Tip: Top floor is the quietest choice but all the rooms are charming.

We had the triple room right at the top of the hotel. It was very clean, bright and comfortable. The stairs were an issue - 92 stairs on a winding and uneven staircase- but we had been warned in advance and just took it slowly. We deliberately only brought one big case. We were offered help to bring it down, but not up. However, the room was totally quiet at night, we heard no street noise at all -with the air con on - and I felt the climb was worth it for this peace.Especially on a weekend. Breakfast was interesting, but delicious. We had to eat fairly fast as there was limited space for breakfast and lots of people arrived at the same time. But there are two hours of serving and it was fine as we wanted to get out and explore Paris. The location is superb. 3 minute walk to the metro. 5 minutes to Notre Dame. The restaurants in the area are just great. There is lots of choice and we were able to buy sandwiches for lunch easily as well as have delicious suppers. We were worried before we left that we would need to book a restaurant for Saturday supper, but there was no problem walking up to get 3 seats - both Friday and Saturday night. There is a general store nearby and this was handy for bottles of water, fruit and snacks. Overall a pleasant and problem free visit.

Room Tip: Room 23 is very high and has a long arduous climb, but if you need quiet to sleep, it is well worth...

I loved the place and their staff. We had a small problem w the room and they fixed fast and they made us feel always comfortables, I can tell that their guest happiness matters for them. Problems happens in life and they know how to solve it!!!! I absolutely recommend this place!!! Of course, if u want the Hilton hotel don't choose the Lys but the quality/price rate here is pretty good and fair.
