“View of the Seine, reasonably priced”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

We had two rooms upstairs looking towards the Louvre. Comfortable hotel which is very reasonably priced for Paris. There is some traffic noise at peak times, but this is easily outweighed by the location. Comfortable walking distance to many Paris attractions. Reasonable eating options along Rue de Bac and many more along Boulevarde Saint-Germain

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. What a superb location, right on the Seine, looking across to the Louvre, with the Musee D'Orsay a hundred plus metres down the road, and so much to see within walking distance. The rooms are adequate, with French windows that open to a balcony and views of river life. Peak hour can be noisy if you want to hear it, but the view compensates. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and stable over time, indicating good management. Our one issue is the breakfast which can become monotonous, so we now just provide our own. We will go back.

Ok, this hotel on it's own is probably not a 5 star, but I can not imagine staying anywhere else in Paris. the rooms are like being transported back in time about 200 years, with big doors leading out to a balcony, which looks out at the Louvre. The room is very small, but why are you spending much time in there anyway? The bathroom is downright cozy, so if you are a large person, taking a shower may be challenging. The bed was comfortable. The staff are amazingly sweet and helpful. The hotel location is the best feature. All the buses seem to end up eventually at the Louvre. We prefer the Metro, since it's easier to figure out, but if the weather is good, you can walk to a lot of the sights. True flavour of Paris, and I would not even look at staying anywhere else.

This is our 5th visit to Paris over the years and our stays have always been satisfactory but this hotel, well, I can't remember sleeping so well in a hotel ever!

We staid in room 41 which had a stunning view and a great little balcony. Whilst the traffic can be busy during rush hour, you will not hear a thing through the double glazed window.

The breakfast was the usual OJ, pastry and coffee affair with more to choose from if you wished.

The hotel does have character and yes, it can be a little rough in certain areas but the rooms were kept immaculate and the staff were friendly.

We will be back, even if just to catch that little women that found a wedding ring for us on the ground, watch out for that scan in Paris, they are everywhere now lol

We stayed just for one short weekend in this hotel in double room on 4th floor.
So I can't give more than 2 stars. Room was small (not like in hotels web page photos), when I slept my legs were outside the bed (basically I thought that I'm not so tall ). These def are not double beds.
Bathroom was simple and small. Sink didn't work well. Chair in the room was dirty and old enough to change it and color of wall as well.

I have booked this hotel in September 2012 and I have chosen for weekend special (including breakfast)... so but we were surprised when receptionist said that we have no breakfast including. I was so disappointed!!!!!
Ok... next morning we kindly asked for TV in our room. But this request were ignored.

And in the end I can say that in nex time we will choose another place where to stay.

This Hotel would be the only one in Paris centre which actually looks out on to the Seine. Across the river is the Louvre and a few hundred metres to the left is the Musee d'Orsay. The restaurants of the leftt bank are close by the other way. So it gets top marks for convenience. the rooms are small but adequate and the pokey bathrooms work. Breakfast is available but we chose to walk a two hundred metres and have a "genuine" French breakfast in a cafe -cheaper too! Nothing is cheap in Paris but this hotel ranks well for what you get. The receptio staff are always willing to help with taxis and useful advice. Like many places the traffic is outside the window but it does ease off at night.

Room Tip: Ask for a deluxe double as they are larger.

I stayed here with my partner and my child, in a triple room, at the end of October. The room was adequate but could have done with a lick of paint and some of the furniture was quite tatty. We were on the first floor so the view of the Louvre which people rave about was really a view of some trees (!) but nevertheless quite attractive. It's located on a very busy road but with the windows closed, we could hardly hear any noise from the street at all. However at night, even with the radiator turned off, we found the room to be overly hot but opening the window wasn't an option due to traffic noise. The bathroom in contrast to the bedroom, was fresh and modern, with an excellent shower.

Continental breakfast was included in our package, but was very basic - one croissant, one bread roll, jam etc, and a hot drink and an orange juice, On one morning, they had even run out of croissants, so we just got bread! Fried eggs, omlettes etc were available at an extra charge, and were very good.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, with many attractions being within easy walking distance. But then again this could be said for umpteen hotels in central Paris! Don't be overly charmed by the fact that Oscar Wilde et al stayed here once upon a time ..... the hotel relies heavily on this as a selling point, but it made no difference to the quality of our stay!
