“Great staff and convenient location, too!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012

Just completed a five night stay and really enjoyed our visit. The service level of the kind and English-fluent staff was very high. The room sizes are what one should expect for a quaint, boutique hotel but we found ours very relaxing and enjoyable. We like to walk as much as possible when visiting another city and the hotel is conveniently located nearby Notre Dame and the Louvre. My wife the nearby stores, too.

This was our first stay here and chose this hotel over several other that had been recommended to us. The room prices are in line with other nearby hotels so I'm really glad we ended up staying here. Only tips for future first timers would be to think twice before indulging in the breakfast buffet everyday. We made the mistake of thinking the buffet comes with the room. It does not. The buffet is definitely enjoyable but at €25 (€30 if you get the eggs) come hungry. If you are only seeking a croissant or two or perhaps some cereal or yogurt, then i'd recommend going elsewhere. Also, a bit of a bummer was that if you want a bottled water, expect to pay €6 (or at least that was what the water cost in the fitness room, I assume the room as well). There are a couple nearby market where you can stock up on water or other snacks if so desired.

Speaking of fitness room, most boutique hotels at which I have stayed do not have one or direct you to a nearby fitness center whe the hotel may have a relationship. I was pleasantly surprised by the fitness area and was able to get in a good workout.

All in all, we would stay here again as the high quality service, friendly staff and nice location make this a nice home away from home.

The service was excellent. A request was dealt with almost immediately. The front desk and concierge staff were fluent in English and dealt with the predominantly American clientele graciously, without attitude. They were very "amused" with my preschool level of French, but I was so happy they patiently let me try. The hotel is on a quiet street in the St. Germain des Pres district which is bustling. Many small, but lovely restaurants with good food are just around the corner from this location. Picasso and Gertrude Stein lived just down the street. The Louvre and Notre Dame are just a stroll away. We too were not thrilled with the Duplex Jr. Suite. However, the birds singing on the roof and in the back garden first thing in the morning, was perfect to start your day in Paris. It's a very romantic little hotel, but seemed to accommodate children without difficulty. They serve an in-house breakfast. I discovered this hotel through a brochure from Abecrombie & Kent. It was an excellent recommendation.

Room Tip: The AC is uniformly good in all rooms. Try to do other than a Duplex Jr. Suite unless you are young...

We were at the hotel last May for one night. When we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed and informed that we received an upgrade from the standard that we had booked quearto (EUR 365.00) for a duplex room junior. until this moment was great. Entering the room, it was dark and claustrophobic, with a brown wall paper. It seemed tobe dusty and dirty. The bathroom is very bad with those curtains that keep sticking to your body all the time. I asked to switch to the room he had booked (standard) but I was informed that the hotel was full and that was the last room available. Probably other guests arriving before also swapped. For the high price, I recommend seeking other better options in the region.

Dear madam, dear sir,

We are sorry to read that your short stay with us at Le Relais Christine last May was a disapointment. However, we feel a bit surprised and concerned by the description made over the suite you have been upgraded to. As far as we could see, you arrived in the evening, and the suite was already prepared with the turndown service. The pictures you put do reflect this, as the lamps are on and curtains are closed.

Moreover, this specific suite is mostly requested for its light purple wall tapestry, which Toile de Jouy adds a very romantic Parisian atmosphere to it. We are sorry it did not suit you and that, by the time of arrival, we had no much flexibility as the hotel was indeed fully booked and all other guests already checked in.

It sadly but logically occurs that Le Relais Christine, even though offering different decors, may not correspond to each one’s expectations. However, our aim was to give you, as we do with all our guests, the most satisfying stay. Considering that yours was short, the upgrade was probably not sufficient to reach this goal.

With best regards,

Off a quiet one way street, walking distance from a major shopping district and restaurants sits a quaint and charming hotel. The staff was attentive and everybody in the front desk spoke fluent English. The hotel was quiet and well maintained and was very generous with the welcome gifts. We asked for extra hangers and blankets and they came quickly. The sheets and blankets were luxurious and clean and the A.C in the room during a very hot day did not waiver and kept us sleeping sound. Across from the hotel is a wonderful boutique who sells beautiful silk and linen clothes and the designer is talented and kind-check him out!

We loved this place. It's in a great location and lovingly maintained with beautiful vaulted stone ceilings in the breakfast room and spa/gym -- how amazing to have a gym in a small Paris hotel that also has character. The rooms, the staff, everything is top notch in hidden on a little street around the corner from wonderful Latin Quarter shopping and restaurants.

We couldn't have chosen a lovelier hotel for a stay in Paris. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed and at home. The hotel has a gently and lovingly worn, of-an-earlier-time feel. Each guest room is decorated differently and the lounge is full of sofas and chairs that aren't at all matchy-matchy. One had the sense one was staying in some wonderful old Paris town home rather than a hotel.
Our standard room, though small, was very comfortable and had a great view of the garden and rooftops of Paris. It was full of natural light and very quiet. The king size bed was firm, had lots of pillows of different weights, and marvelous sheets.
The lounge, with its honor bar, was a comfortable place to sit and visit or just read. The breakfast each morning was generous and hardy. The hotel's location was perfect for walking nearly everywhere we wanted to go. And the staff was gracious, friendly, and very helpful.
We would absolutely stay here again.
