Probably average. Not the best steak I have had but a good location and not too over priced for its central location and good to watch the world go by

This cafe is expensive, but it is also a great place to watch people. If you stick to a drink only, you will be fine.
The waiter was funny and attentive and the coffee americano nice and hot. The price of € 6,- was OK compared to other European cities.

Rainy evening, looking for casual dinner, on my own. With so many cafes and restaurants to choose from one would think one's chances at having a decent meal would be good. Unfortunately this was not to be. Last week I had dinner at the Coupe D'Or. Well I tried to have dinner. My summary of the experience; waiter with attitude, (reminded me of Paris twenty five years ago before they discovered tourism), recommended the daily special, veal scallop with mushroom sauce. Within 2 minutes of ordering the dish arrived, a pool of whitish stuff covering a piece of meat that had probably served nobly in the French Foreign Legion some decades ago. Bottom line totally inedible meal, poor service and expensive. Mind you any price would be too much for that meal. Could have been an off night but I doubt it.

Probably the worst place I've ever been to in Paris. A salad for 22 euro was served with a live spider in it and the only thing a waiter could say about it was "Come oooooon,it's not so scary". Saying "Are you happy now?" while changing the plate was not very nice of him either. I am totally shocked, not only by the insect in my food but mostly by the reaction of staff. No apologising, no complimentary free coffee or something that could make our experience there at least a tiny bit better. Rude staff and terrible sanitary conditions as I suppose. Avoid!!!

I am sure that anybody visiting here will either love it or loathe it; it purely depends on your response. We visited twice, our first visit being at the end of an exhausting Friday walking around the city shops and sights on a cold afternoon.

A cup of their wonderful chocolat chaud, real melted chocolate that you dilute with hot cream to taste, was just the ticket. Sitting on the pavement side watching the world go by at this typical café in a cool fashionista street is also great fun. What you will love or loathe are the staff. If you can accept the supreme Parisian waiter arrogance as tongue in cheek you will enjoy, if you take the staff’s attitude seriously it will ruin your visit.

Our second visit was mid-afternoon on Sunday and the setting was far quieter and more laid back. We opted for the Chocolat Viennoise, which proved as good as the Chocolat Chaud. Same super arrogant and disdainful attitude from the waiter but this has to be one of the best pavement café people watching spots in Paris. If you like watching the world go by whilst enjoying a cup of chocolat, coffee or vin chaud, do make a visit, but only if you can find a seat outside.
