“Clean, economical, and in a great location!!”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

My husband and I stayed in the Holiday Inn Paris Opera while on our 10 year anniversary trip in Paris. We stayed in this hotel two nights and stayed in other hotels including the Intercontinental one night. I would have been happy at this hotel over the Intercontinental. It was clean, quiet, recently remodeled, had a nice breakfast, and was in a good location. It was accessible to the subway system and within walking distance of the opera house (about 5 minutes). About a 15 minute walk to the Louvre. The hotel was reasonably priced (low 100's in euros if I remember correctly). Wonderful little crepe place around the corner. The Holiday Inn staff were so helpful. They went over countless maps and subway routes to help us get to where we needed to go. There was a subway entrance literally right in front of the hotel. Hotel staff arranged for someone to pick us up and take us to the airport as we departed the city. Overall, this was our favorite hotel during our entire stay in Paris (6 nights).

Room Tip: We didn't stay in a room that was facing the street. Our room was on the second floor and toward...

This is a nice little hotel in a good location. Grand Boulevards is a good name as there is a lot of shopping and restaurant choice along the boulevard in front of the hotel. The metro stop is right in front of the hotel, so you are just a quick train ride from everything. The rooms are a little small, but comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

I don't usually stay at budget business hotels so I might be biased here. I just found the hotel so average and tasteless that I did not come out with the best impression.

The biggest downturn was the inefficiency of the front desk staff. My secretary had booked the hotel with the corporate card which I of course did not have with me when checking in. I offered another card but they refused because some kafkian/Orwellian rule at this hotel mandates them to use the same card used for the booking. Crazy. It took me over 20 minutes of arguing to convinced them that using another card was ok.

Clean but tiny rooms. Unimpressive restaurant. Good location.

I stayed here one night on business, but this is not a business hotel. The hotel had a problem with their key system, so checking in was an ordeal, and the hotel had employees escort guests to their rooms, since the keys provided did not work on the doors. This issue continued the following day.

The section of Paris where this hotel is located was not that nice, and not convenient to where we were going. Rooms are all at fairly low levels, near the street noise on this busy street.

The breakfast area was fairly well organized, but it was typical for a budget hotel in terms of quality of food and offerings at the buffet.

I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience on this stay. I am also not a fan of Holiday Inn properties historically.

Very good hotel in an excellent location. Surrounded by vibrant life with cafes, bars, restaurants and shops . The entrance to Grands Boulevards metro is directly outside the front entrance making journeys to other districts very easy. The hotel is clean, modern and well managed with friendly and efficient staff on hand to help. Rooms are a good size for Paris, and compared to many other hotels in the immediate area are quite big!! We travel to Paris each October to attend the race meeting at Longchamp and this is the best hotel we have found in our favourite area over the past 10 years.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are generally bigger but expect to hear the vibrant life outside.

Excellent location, right at the exit of a subway station and in the midst of an area buzzing with life. There's a supermarket nearby for supplies, and an excellent affordable French restaurant (hard to find restaurants that is "excellent" and "affordable" and "french"!) next door, the name is Chartier.

Hard product of the hotel is excellent, and the service is warm and friendly. However, I have (minor) complains about the amenities, the nice shower gel and shampoo comes in hard to open bottles. The kettle for boiling water is located no where near a power socket.

I booked by star rating through Hotwire and when I found out I get a Holiday Inn, my first reaction was "Really? How can a Holiday Inn be a four star?" When I got here, I was pleasantly surprised. The Grand Boulevard subway station is literally right outside the hotel (exit #2). The hotel is recently renovated and very modern and boutique like. The room is small but it's like that everywhere in Paris unless you are willing to pay an arm and a leg. My room was on the 7th floor. The street is very busy but I could not hear a thing with the windows closed. I had problems when my safe and the tech fixed it immediately with a big apology from the front desk.

You can walk to the Galeries Lafayette in five minutes (or take metro).
