“True bistro with an outstanding wine list”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

If you want a true French bistro with excellent -although not too light- cuisine and extensive wine list, that s the place. Always fully booked (a trick is to ask for a sea a the bar if nothing else is available), Magali serves a traditional cuisine, with many daily specials always worth trying, that goes perfectly with a wine list heavily focused on Burgundy (and obviously Volney appellation) but also with a lot of bottles served by glass, always a good option for a nice pairing; do not miss pheasant pie with foie gras nor sea bream with orange, both delicious.

The place is grea oth for diner and lunch, even so low probability to squeeze it in less than an our :-).

Enjoy !

“VERY GOOD BUT!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

We had dinner here last night. The food was very good although very rich. the service was excellent . The one snag was I had requested a vegetable with my Couchon instead of potatoes but they forgot.
The biggest complaint was that the wine list was extremely overpriced. The least expensive bottle of red was 40 euro, and there was only one, and then the prices climbed.
Overall we would say that there are many other places that are comparable for less.

“Great food with very expensive wine.”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

You can choose from a menu and the quality of the food was very good. The winecard has no housewines or half bottles! Only rather expensive bottles from 40-350 euro. The bistro is small, so there are still people waiting. The staff serves the meal too quick, so you has to leave too soon. The staff is not very friendly. Good quality with too commercially.

“Great spot at reasonable prices”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

In the affluent Opera District you'll find a busy but nice restaurant. Today I enjoyed a 3 course lunch composed by a tasty pulp carpaccio, followeb by an excellent mille-feuille tart filled with minced beef and foie gras and a perfect chocolat cake for just 38 euros. It was really worth the money! Excellent wines also by the glass.
