We wandered in off the street for a late lunch after visiting the Orsay Museum. We were happily surprised by the place, it was not a tourist trap. It made a change from the steak and chips served in most bistros and the portions were decent and contained vegetables.

Went for lunch after Musee d'Orsay...regretfully. We ordered from the 20€ set menu, the food was unappetising and poor quality. When asked "Is there a problem with your vegetable dish?" our reply was rudely cut-off and answered by the waiter/manager. He was not interested in hearing our explanation for the uneaten food! The Fillet of Beef was a bashed out bit of thin, tough steak served with a few diced potatoes and nothing else!! My daughters gnocci seemed to have come straight from the microwave with a bit of tomato sauce.
Worst of all, when another family came in at around 3pm when restaraunt was emptying, the manager rudely chased them out with the words..." This is a restaraunt, if you want coffee and icecream, go across the road!"
Very poor....avoid this place.

While in Paris recently on business, a colleague and I found ourselves looking for a late lunch after a tough morning touring the Musee d'Orsay. Conveniently located just a couple blocks from the museum, this small Italian restaurant looked warm, bright and inviting. We received prompt friendly service, without being rushed at all, in spite of our late arrival - we surely stayed well past the normal lunch closing period. Having decided on the fixed lunch menu, I was informed that my first choice of the gnocchi was currently unavailable. They offered up any other pasta available, rather than forcing another choice from the fixed menu. I ended up with the carbonara, which was light and rich, without being heavy. Very nice! Our server, Reme, and the proprietor, Amedeo, both took great care of us while there, engaged in lively discussion, and generally made us feel at home in a place far from home. The proprietor splits his time between this, and his other restaurant - Pizza Sarno at 31 rue de la Harpe. If you find yourself near the Musee d'Orsay - which you should - get off the main drag of touristy restaurants by the museum and give these guys a try. And don't turn down the offer of a cappuccino or a limoncello when offered. Ciao!

And we were staying around the corner when we looked at each other and said, Pasta!!! So we walked into this tiny simple Soughern Italian ristorante and ordered their specials which included ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola and done in a black truffle sauce. Fantastic. I had the Lynette stuffed with broccoli and almonds and done in a ham, mushroom, sauce with a tiny bit of tomato. Marvelous. The tiramisu was quite wonderful as well. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Paris.

Staying round the corner we went on a friday night on the strength of the other comments. It was around 8.30 when we arrived and we were the only people in the restaurant for around an hour. The assorted salami was very poor quality and the last time i looked, chorizo was spanish not italian. The ping from the microwave wasn't a good sign before the pasta courses and it was edible yet instantly forgettable. We went elsewhere for dessert and coffee. Overall i would say this is a perfect candidate for gordon ramseys kitchen nightmares where what might once have been a great family run restaurant now seems to have lost its way and started cutting too many corners.
