“Lovely neighborhood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

We stolled around this area after visiting Notre Dame and had our usual cafe along the way. Very nice shops and buildings and a nice walk over to view the side of Notre Dame along the way. Great place to live, I imagine and a great place to stroll.

“Another world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

In the center of Paris, apart from the bustling Marais, Ile le Cite, and Left Bank, is a little quiet neighborhood on the island of Ile St.Louis. The island is a neighborhood famous for ice cream (yes, it really is worth waiting in line for) and little shops. The butchers, cheese shops, and green grocers serve the neighborhood with high quality goods and many other shops are filled with unique items beyond what is usually found in the tacky and predictable souvenir shops. We were able to find many nice gifts to take home as well as little keepsakes for ourselves. As we had an apartment nearby, we frequented the local food and wine shops on the island for high quality ingredients for our eat-in meals. It can be a bit crowded on the main shopping street on a warm weekend afternoon--especially if there are queues for ice-cream--but during the week it is a quiet respite from the nearby bustling neighborhoods.

“Historic Island”

I love wandering about Ile St-Louis with its lovely cafes, delis and ice-cream shops. There are rental apartments which would be a great location to explore Paris.

“Dream come true”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Since my first visit to Paris three decades ago (as a student on a tight budget) and my honeymoon trip two decades ago (also on a budget), I have always dreamed of coming back and staying on Ile St. Louis when I could afford it. Well, I finally did it, and it was MAGNIFICENT! We rented an apartment www.chemouni.com/boutarel/
and had a dream-come-true weekend in a beautiful, spotlessly clean, well-outfitted two-bedroom flat in the most charming and centrally located part of Paris you can imagine. I highly recommend staying here!!

Or if you don't stay here, at least walk around the island and soak up its charms.

“Another wonderful way to spend half a day in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

Just walk, walk, walk. Charming street, every where you turn, there is something new to discover. Pretty much everyone we interacted with in Paris was very nice, and spoke English as soon as we fumbled through our high school French. Always felt safe in this neighborhood.
